OBE SYLLABUS IN SHOP AND LAYOUT MANAGEMENT

A. VISION: CNSC as a premier higher education institution in the Bicol Region.

B. MISSION: The Camarines Norte State College shall provide higher and advanced studies in the fields of education, arts and sciences,
economics, health, engineering, management, finance, accounting, business and public administration, agriculture, natural
resources development and management and ladderized courses. It shall also respond to research, extension and production
services adherent to progressive leadership towards sustainable development.

C. QUALITY POLICY:
We, at Camarines Norte State College, aiming to become a Premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region, are
committed to providing excellent services in instruction, research, extension and production that are responsive to the satisfaction
of our students and other stakeholders.

To achieve the College vision and mission, we shall implement an internationally recognized management system in our
operations, processes and services. Through this, we shall:

 comply with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, the mandates of the College and relevant needs and
expectations of our students and other stakeholders, and the requisites of our quality management system;
 delight our students and other stakeholders by providing value-adding experiences to become well-rounded and more
competitive future leaders in the midst of global issues;

F. COURSE TITLE: SHOP LAYOUT AND MANAGEMENT

G. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course aims to provide students with an analytical approach to the production planning and management.
Course emphasis will be on the application of the analytical tools to address critical issues related to
strengthening the competitive position of the enterprise, such as: product or service design, process engineering
and work systems design, management of technology and innovation, environment-friendly design, capacity
planning, plant location and facilities layout, logistics and supply chain management, total quality management,
operations scheduling and performance management.

CNSC envisions a graduate having the following attributes: professional competence, critical and creative thinking skills,

N. PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon the completion of the program, the graduates can:
1. Equip the students with the professional and technological competence within a field of specialization so that they become
productive members of this community and the nation as a whole.(a.1)
2. Assess the students in terms of their skill competencies through National Certificates (NC) issued by the Technical
Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA). (a.2)

Q. COURSE POLICIES:
A. Provision for Inclusive Education shall be implemented at the start of semester. The institution’s commitment to inclusive education:

1. Students shall be graded either PASSED or FAILED.
2. Cumulative grading system in all undergraduate and graduate course/program offering will be adopted.
3. There shall be three (3) rating periods per semester: preliminary, mid-term and final.

4. Grades shall be computed for every rating period.


5. There shall be two (2) types of grades to be computed per rating period. Tentative grade (TG) and Final Grade (FG).
6. Three major criteria in determining the performance of students per rating period: Class Standing, Periodical Examinations and Project.
7. The Tentative Grade (TG) shall be computed as follows:

8. On Attendance: The rating for attendance shall be based on the number of absences incurred. A perfect attendance shall be equivalent to 100. For
every absent incurred a demerit of 8 points shall be deducted from 100 and thereafter. And for every late or tardiness incurred a demerit of 4 will be
deducted. The total rating shall be the result of the combined application of demerits to absences and tardiness.
9. Passing the Subject: In order for the students to pass, he/she must obtain a grade of 3.0 or 75%. The failing grade is 5.0. Grade from 74 and
below shall not earn any credit.
 The following grading system shall be used:
1.00 – 99%-100% 1.50 – 93% 2.00 – 87% 2.50 – 81% 3.00 – 75%
