OBE SYLLABUS IN ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY

A. VISION : CNSC as a premier higher education institution in the Bicol Region

B. MISSION : The Camarines Norte State College shall provide higher and advanced studies in the fields of education, arts and
sciences, economics, health, engineering, management, finance, accounting, business and public administration,
agriculture, natural resources development and management and ladderized courses. It shall also respond to
research, extension and production services adherent to progressive leadership towards sustainable development.
C. QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL : We, at Camarines Norte State College, aiming to become a Premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region,
POLICY are committed with utmost care of the environment in providing excellent services in instruction, research, production
and extension that are responsive to the satisfaction of our students and other stakeholders.
To achieve these, we shall implement an internationally recognized integrated management system in our operations,
processes and services and shall:
 comply with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, the mandates of the College and relevant needs
and expectations of our students and other stakeholders, and the requisites of our quality and environmental
management system;
 delight our students and our stakeholders by providing value-adding experiences to become well-rounded and
more competitive future leaders in the midst of global issues;
 protect the environment and prevent pollution by optimizing the use of electricity, paper, water and other resources
and adopt safe and responsible methods of reduction, reuse, recycling and proper disposal of wastes;
 provide our employees support to grow and achieve their full potential in their respective fields, thereby sustaining
a competent, motivated and engaging workforce;
 develop and extend innovative technologies to our stakeholders contributing to the country’s sustainable
development; and
 establish objectives aimed at improving the efficiency of our operations, processes and services for our College
growth and development;

F. COURSE TITLE : Animal Physiology

G. COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course deals with how animal works, survive, and regulate physiological processes. Homeostatic mechanism of
respiration, circulation, thermoregulation, metabolism, locomotion, and osmoregulation of vertebrates will be the
focus.
H. CREDIT UNITS : 5 units (3 units lecture, 2 units laboratory)

I. PREREQUISITE : ZOOL 1 (General Zoology) and CHEMBIO 3 (Biomolecules) 1 (Biotechnology)

N. PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING : For BS Biology, the following set of objectives describes what graduates are expected to attain within few years after

A. Articulate the latest developments in their specific field of practice;
B. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino languages;
C. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
D. Demonstrate professional, social and ethical responsibility, especially in practicing intellectual property rights and
sustainable development;
E. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage;
F. Demonstrate broad and coherent knowledge and understanding in the core areas of physical and natural
sciences;
G. Apply critical and problem-solving skills using the scientific method;
H. Interpret relevant scientific data and make judgments that include reflection on relevant scientific and ethical
issues;
I. Carry out basic mathematical and statistical computations and use appropriate technologies in (a) the analysis of
data; and (b) in pattern recognition, generalization, abstraction, critical analysis and problem solving;
J. Communicate information, ideas problems and solutions, both, orally and in writing, to other scientists, decision
makers and the public;
