1. FORM:

TYPE MAIN CLAUSE IF – CLAUSE

will
Type 1: can
+ V-inf
Có thật ở hiện tại hoặc tương shall
lai may
Simple present

Simple present
( chỉ 1 sự thật, 1 quy luật hoặc
1 thói quen )

could
Type 2: would Simple past
Không có thật ở hiện tại should + V-inf
might ( V2; be  were )

could
Type 3: would Past perfect
Không có thật ở quá khứ should + have + V3
might ( had + V3 )

EX: + If I have time, I’ll help you

+ If I were you, I would come there.

+ He would have passed the exam if he had studied hard.

2. UNLESS:
+ If you don’t study hard, you’ll fail the exam.
  Unless you study hard, you’ll fail the exam.
 Lưu ý: Khi đổi câu điều kiện If sang Unless, không được đổi mệnh đề IF ở thể (+) sang
thể (-) mà phải đổi mệnh đề chính theo thể ngược lại.
EX:
+ If I have time, I’ll help you
 Unless I have time, I’ll won’t help you

+ If we had more rain, our crops would grow faster.

 Unless we had more rain, our crops wouldn’t grow faster.
