DISTRICT VIRTUAL ORIENTATION ON THE MOST ESSENTIAL

LEARNING COMPETENCIES (MELCs)

To: Elementary School Principals

1. Pursuant to Division Memorandum No. 249, s. 2020 entitled “Conduct of District Virtual Conference on
Curriculum Management & Development”, this office will conduct a District Virtual Orientation on the Most
Essential Learning Competencies on July 2, 2020 (Elementary School Heads and Teachers) and July 3, 2020
(Secondary Schools Heads and Teachers) via Google Meet App.

2. The objectives of this activity are:

2.1 Discuss the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs);
2.2 Discuss the roles and functions of teachers in the new normal in education;
2.3 Discuss issues and concerns related to the preparation of learning resources;
2.4 Discuss the assigned tasks for teachers from June 26 to July 15, 2020; and
2.5 Discuss on Enhanced Budget of Lessons, Formative and Summative Assessment based on the
MELCs.
3. The participants to this orientation are school heads and teachers of both elementary & secondary
schools.
4. For the participants to join the orientation, they have to use their DepEd email and, click the following

(Secondary)
5. The expenses of the participants relative to the participation of the aforementioned activity such internet
load, transportation (for some teachers and school heads coming from barangays with weak or poor signal
need to travel to the población or other barangays for better internet signal) and other incidental expenses,
shall be charged to the MOOE of each school subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.

6. Wide dissemination of this memorandum is expected.
