background, experiences, knowledge so that your training will be personalized according to your needs.
Okay? So please get one.

I would like to welcome our 4 new trainees who will be training for this competency. And of course, I
would also want to acknowledge our 1 old trainee who is currently undergoing the training.

I will distribute this now and will give you 20 minutes to answer.

Okay. Thank you.

I also have here the self-assessment checklist, so this will help me determine your current competencies
that will be relevant with this qualification. I will again distribute this and give you another 20 minutes to
answer.

According to the questionnaire, it seems that Ms Rose Bernal has a relevant experience in Event

Don’t worry Ms Mylene, you will have that experience that’s why we have this training

And now, let’s start with our orientation for competency based training for EMS NC III.

I have prepare this slide for your

I will discuss to you the following.

 CBT
 Principles of CBT
 Comparative analysis between Traditional Education and CBT
 Recognition of prior learning
 Roles and Responsibilities of Trainees
 Roles and responsibilities of Trainer
 Qualification Overview of EMS NC III
 The Units of Competencies
 CBLM
 Training Workshop Station
 Evaluation and Assessment methods

So, let’s go first with our first topic, the CBT.

What is CBT?
- Competency Based Training is training that is designed to allow a learner to demonstrate their
ability to do something
- This means that the focus of this training in not only with what you know but on what you can
actually do as if you are on field. Its concentration is more on the result rather than the process
of how things are done and is learner center, that’s you.

Okay? So any questions?

That’s good! Now let’s proceed to the principles of CBT.

(enumerate the principles)

2. Meaning, each competency is pre-requisite with the next competency. So you finish the first
competency before you can proceed to the next.
3. That’s why I have gathered your data a while ago so that the training will be personalized
according to your needs. And it is self-face so you will be the one responsible for your own learning.

Okay? Any questions? Then let’s proceed.

4. This means that our training is in accordance to the industry standards. What you will do here
in the training program is what is actually done in the industry.

So, those are our 10 principles of CBT.

Now. Let’s go to the Comparative Analysis between traditional learning method and CBT.

*There is a great difference between this two. So, let’s learn what they are.
1. It is teacher centered while in CBT it is Learner centered.
2. It was mentioned in the 10 principles of CBT. There is now fixed schedule of classes/training in
CBT unlike the traditional learning. In short, the schedule in CBT is flexible.
3. In traditional, you have to study all aspects from the start, while in CBT we recognize prior learning so
the students can proceed to the next competency.

So, any questions?

COMPETENCY OVERVIEW
We are aware that now a days, the role of an event management company or event
manager is very important in mounting an event and make is successful. Executing an event
is not an easy job and in order to maximize your budget, it would be wise that you hire
an event management company. Any event management team will have the right contacts
and vendors for the requirements of your event.

So after your training, I am sure you will be equipped with the more than enough
knowledge in managing an event and will be ready to face the world events organizing.

So now, let’s go to CBLM.

Any idea what is CBLM?

CBLM – supplements a teacher’s oral and visual instructions

- Guide students in learning
- Allow students to progress at a rate that is comfortable to them (Self-instruction)

• Information Sheet – it contains cognitive information or knowledge which the learner

needs to know to understand a specific task or topic
• Self-Check - immediate evaluation sheet of what you have understood in the
information sheet.
• Answer Key – immediate feedback of your self-check
• Task Sheet -
• Operation Sheet –
Both are performance test
• Performance Criteria Checklist- used to rate or evaluate the above mentioned test

Any questions with the CBLM? No? Then, let’s go to the methodologies.
As you can see here, these are the methodologies to be used in the duration of our training.
Okay. So let’s go to the monitoring tools.

We have Achievement Chart and Progress Chart

Achievement Chart is use whenever you achieve a particular learning activity for a certain
learning outcome, I will put a check on that particular LO. In short, this is your daily
activities.

On the other hand, if you achieve a particular learning out for a unit of competency, I will
put a check on your progress chart.
For me to assess your progress throughout the training, we have this Evaluation tool.

And now, I will take you to the different parts of the training center.

competencies.
