Course Code : CDI 102

Course Title : Traffic Management and Accident Investigation

Course Description : The course includes fundamentals of traffic safety education,


enforcement, engineering, techniques in vehicular and
pedestrian direction, and control, techniques in point and
inter-sectional vehicle – volume determination for emergency
and priority control; study of different traffic decrees, codes in
national and local levels; techniques in the preparation of the
selective enforcement plans and policies for special and
emergency traffic situations; methods and procedures in the
use of the hand signals and electric signal lights; techniques
in accident investigation; determination of reaction time and
brake – in – time, and application of scientific aids in hit – and
– run cases.

Course Objectives : At the end of the course, the students are expected to;

1. explain the rational of traffic enforcement action;

2. to have a full grasp on the concept of enforcement system;

3. describe the different kinds of police accident and their corresponding


enforcement action;
4. familiarize themselves on different laws that has pertinence to traffic
management;
5. Explain and apply the technical concepts of traffic accident investigation in
their everyday life.

Note: Passing percentage for board courses is 70% of the total raw score for SA, FA & CA; This
means that a raw score of 70 points for a total of 100-point assessment is equivalent to a
grade of 75% for any grading period. Passing percentage for non-board courses, on the
other hand, is 60% for SA, FA & CA.
2. Quizzes/Finals
2.1 No make-up examinations will be given. All missed quizzes and hands-on exercises will be
equivalent to zero.
2.2 All major examinations will be conducted as scheduled by the University Registrar’s Office.
3. Cheating
Anyone caught cheating or trying to cheat in any manner will be given a final grade of 70.
4. Absences
The maximum allowable absences is 6 hours. Anyone who exceeds this limit will be given a final
grade of FA (Failed due to absences).
