Course Description This course is a part of the General Education curriculum of the University. It deals with the basic concepts and principles of social life and social living. It includes the
study of culture, Philippine values, social functions, social organizations and social problems.

It covers the very life of man as a social being, seeking to understand how does man lives and interrelate with others. It shall present a comprehensive coverage of
the concept of socialization. Social groups and interactions, social institutions and social change, ethic relations, demography and population education and the
current situation on the rural and urban communities
Course Intended After completing this course, STUDENTS MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED

Attendance
Attendance will be checked regularly. Each student is required to: 1) Attend at least 80% of the class hours (i.e., at least 12 sessions)
2) Submit individual/group assignments/projects; 3) Give a presentation of topics assigned to him/her; and 4) Pass the major exams

A student will be marked “late” if he/she enters the class 5 minutes after the indicated time. Any student who comes to class  15
minutes after the scheduled time or always late for two consecutive meetings shall be marked “absent”.

  Any student who missed to give class presentation, submit a work assignment, or to take a test should consult the concerned instructor for immediate compliance.

Cheating and plagiarism.


  Any student who committed any form of academic dishonesty shall be given disciplinary action provided in the
TSU Student’s Manual

. Cell phones should be turned off while the session is in progress. Using laptops, notebook PCs, smart phones, and tablets shall be prohibited unless the instructor is
aware of the purpose and permits student’s request.
Homework, Written Reports and Reaction Papers
 Homework – Homework assignments are given after each class for them to prepare for the next lesson.
 Discussion and Participation – Your grade in Discussion and Participation will be based on group discussion and completion of various
activities including worksheets and performance activities.
 Quizzes – These quizzes will be based on the subjective type of lessons. (Theory and Rudiments)
 Performance Activities - are simulations and integration of the lesson
Course Portfolio: The portfolio is a form of assessment for this class. Each of you is expected to purchase a 40 or 60 leaf folder to use as your portfolio. All forms of in-
class outputs,
homework, worksheets, readings, and other items are to be placed in the portfolio for assessment at the end of the semester. Prepare the Title Page and following it
is the Table of Contents.
This will help you organize your portfolio as well as in helping your instructor/professor assess and grade the items contained within it. Bring your portfolio when
asked to.
Honor, Dress and Grooming Code: You are enjoined to wear the prescribed uniform of the college with your ID worn at all times. Also, respect to administrators, faculty and
staff of the university as well as to your classmates and other students shall be observed. You are mandated to follow all school policies and regulations.
