UNIT OF COMPETENCY : CARRY OUT MINOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING


MODULE TITLE : CARRYING OUT MINOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING

MODULE DESCRIPTOR : This unit involves the skills and knowledge and attitudes required to carry
out basic servicing and maintenance of a light vehicle such as cleaning the
vehicle. It also includes the action to implement the vehicle manufacturer’s
specifications for routine checks and maintenance and that the vehicle is
operational to the requirements of both the workplace and the relevant road
and traffic authority.
NOMINAL DURATION : 16 hours
SUMMARY OF OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of this module the student/trainees will be able to:
LO1. Clean the vehicle unit.
LO2. Maintain and service the vehicle system.

out basic servicing and maintenance of a light vehicle such as cleaning the
vehicle. It also includes the action to implement the vehicle manufacturer’s
