CHAPTER 3

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter presents the presentation, analysis and

interpretation of data of the questionnaires of the thesis

entitled, “Money Management Practices and Problems of UB Senior

High School Students”. This study is to show how the UB Senior

High School Students spend/use their allowance also the scale on

the degree of seriousness of the Problems University of Baguio

Senior High School students encounter in spending their

allowances. All the gathered data were analyzed and presented

into tables by the help of the research adviser, validator of the

tool and the panelist.

The grade 11 students of UB Senior High School are being

studied in terms of daily allowance and the degree of seriousness

in spending their allowance.The researchers floated a total

number of 150 questionnaire copies to grade 11 students and the

following tables are the results which answers the statement of

the problem of this study.

The problem number one dealt on how the UB Senior High School

Students spend/use their allowances.

Table 2 presents the percentage on how do the UB Senior High

School Students spend/use their allowances.

The table shows how do the UB Senior High School Students

spend/use their allowances. With 150 students as samples on food,

18 students spend 76% to 100% of their allowance, 50 students

spend 51% to 75% of their allowance,67 students spend 26% to 50%

of their allowance, 14 students spend 1% to 25% and 1 student

spend 0% of their allowance. On Transportation, 0 students spend

76% to 100% of their allowance, 8 students spend 51% to 75% of

their allowance, 18 students spend 26% to 50%, 104 students spend

1% to 25% of their allowance and 20 students spend 0% of their

allowance. On entertainment or leisure, 4 students spend 76% to

100% of their allowance, 12 students spend 51% to 75% of their

allowance, 41 students spend 26% to 50% of their allowance, 65

students spend 1% to 25% of their allowance and 28 students spend

0% of their allowance. On savings, 2 students spend 76% to 100%

of their allowance, 14 students spend 51% to 75% of their

allowance, 31 students spend 26% to 50% of their allowance, 56

students spend 1% to 25% of their allowance and 47 students spend

0% of their allowance.

The table 3 represents the degree of seriousness of the

problems University of Baguio Senior High School students

encounter in spending their allowances.The following are the

problems do the students of UB Senior High School encounter in

spending their allowances.

 I don’t make a plan where to use my money

With a p-value of 0.52 which is greater than the


significance level of 0.05 and a computed Stat of -0.639 which is
less than the critical value two-tail of 1.976, it shows that
there is no statistically significant difference on the degree of
seriousness of the problems University of Baguio Senior High
School students encounter in spending their daily allowances .
Thus, null hypothesis is failed to be rejected.
