Contract No. and Title. : KWASA/KSSDP/SN-02 and Construction of Sewer Network
including Pumping Stations and Service Connections
Deadline for Submission of Bids: 20 July 2020.

1. The People´s Republic of Bangladesh is expecting to receive financing from the Asian Development
Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Khulna Sewerage System Development Project. Part of this financing
will be used for payments under the Contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible
source countries of ADB.

2. The Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the
construction and completion of “Construction of Sewer Network including Pumping Stations
and Service Connections”.

3. Open competitive bidding (OCB) with international advertisement will be conducted in

accordance with ADB’s Single stage: Two envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from
eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document.

4. The qualification criteria include the following;

 Minimum average annual construction turnover of US$ 37.90 million during the last 5 (five)
years;
 Participation in at least one contract similar to the proposed works within the last 10 (ten)
years successfully or substantially completed, where the value of the Bidder’s participation
exceeds US$ 55 million in a single contract;
 Net worth for the last year calculated as the difference between total assets and total
liabilities should be positive;
 Demonstrate total financial resource requirement equal or more than US$ 6.325 million for
subject contract;
 Experienced on Supply, laying and commissioning of Sewage Collection Network in a single
contract which has minimum length of 100 km of pipe diameter of not less than 200 mm of
any material. Out of 100 km length at least 20 km length shall have diameter of 800 mm or
above.

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should

 write to address above requesting the Bidding Documents for KWASA/KSSDP/SN-02:

 pay a non-refundable fee of BDT 35,000.00 or US$ 412.00 by the method of cash or cashier

7. Deliver your bid

 to the office if the Managing Director, Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority

 on or before the deadline 20 July 2020 at 3.00 pm (local time)
 together with a Bid Security as described in the Bidding Document.

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline for bid submission in the presence of Bidders’
representatives who choose to attend.

8. When comparing Bids, Domestic Preference will not be applied as stipulated in the Bidding
Document.
