THE CITY OF RIOJA "THE CITY OF HATS"

Rioja, it is a city that I like, this city is located in the Department of San Martin, and it has a
population of 122,544 inhabitants.
This city has beautiful landscapes, and tourist places such as the Palestine cave and the
tourist center of the source of the Tio Yacu river, it also has an ecological reserve Santa
Elena.
It has a fairly rural area with its man-made “wine landscape” that has gained international
attention through spectacular wineries scattered throughout the area, creating attractions
for a new form of tourism.
One of the most festive dates of this city is from January to March, since carnivals are
held, where they perform dances and parades every week.
In addition, this city has some exquisite typical dishes, one of them is Rioja style potatoes
and Rioja style cod.
