There is nothing greater than helping others, even in other
worlds. By helping others, we get both visible and invisible results. The invisible results of our noble actions, will help us in this birth as well as in svargaloka, where the Jiva goes after death of the physical body. The word ¦z@uÒ refers to the Devas - celestial beings. ¦z@uÒ E»Pzx® means, even in Deva loka, Not only in this world, in Devaloka also, it is very rare to experience something more greater than, what is gained by helping others. (by parokapakaaram). No other noble action, is equivalent to helping others. This noble action, this Dharma of helping others itself, is great. Its benefit is also greater than the result of any other action. We feel happy, while helping others. Other noble actions, may not give happiness, while doing. Helping others has to be done cheerfully. There is lot of possibility of being happy, while helping others. Seeing the joy of the receiver, the giver also feels delighted. Veda says that, “By helping others, even an enemy becomes a friend). daanena dvishanta: mitraa bhavanti. In Devaloka, there is no giver or recipient. We cannot help anybody there. This meaning is also hidden in this Kural. The joy that one experiences in Devaloka, is a fruit of helping others in this world. The happiness that we enjoy by, sharing with others will bring happiness in this world itself. There will not be a greater happiness than this, even in Devaloka. Thus, we can understand that paroopakaaram or helping others always brings happiness in this world and in Devaloka. There is nothing equivalent to the fame and Punyam (result of noble actions) got by helping others, anywhere, in any world. The greatest Punyam and joy can be obtained only through helping others. that is greater than helping others, in this world and in the world of the Devas. “The magnanimous people never die. They never get destroyed. They don’t face obstacles or sorrows. They win over this world and the world of the Devas, by their power of giving” says Rig Veda (Mantra 10.117.6).
