Role Purpose

 To work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of high quality front-line library and cultural services at any
service point within the Trust.
 Contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of cultural services to meet the changing needs of customers and
organisational needs.
 Support the performance of Cultural Services through a culture of teamwork and flexibility, contributing to the overall
success of the Council.
 Work to continuously improve service delivery and performance of Cultural Services.

Role Accountabilities & Key Activities

Compliance

 Contribute to the maintenance of a healthy and safe environment within the facilities for employees and service users
including the implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
 Assist with the recording of statistical information as required to support service standards and performance targets.
 Assist with cash handling and the receipt of income according to agreed procedures.

Cultural Services Provision

 Assist in providing an efficient and effective service, including stock circulation and maintenance, the operation of the
computerised management systems and other procedures relevant to the running of Cultural Services.
 Assist in presenting stock, collections and information materials to a high standard to enhance customer service
delivery.
 Assist customers in making use of the full range of services and resources, including ICT.
 Undertake enquiry/information work using appropriate resources to enhance the customer service delivery and
experience.
 Assist with preparation and delivery of Cultural Services events, displays and exhibitions to support audience
development.
 Assist with marketing and promotion of Cultural Services, to support audience development.

Customer Service Delivery

 Deliver a high quality service by focusing on the individual needs and concerns of the customer.
 Take account of customer perspectives and expectations in continuous improvements to service delivery.
 Build and develop strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance the customer service delivery and experience.
 Ensure ongoing customer feedback is considered whilst balancing customer needs and expectations with other
organisational demands.
 Support a customer focused culture in service delivery and improvement to enhance the performance of the
organisation.

 Foster strong working relationships inside and outside the team to achieve common goals and objectives.
 Co-operate with and support others within Cultural Services through sharing knowledge, experience and best

Key Relationships

 As a member of the Cultural Services Team, the role has accountability for the delivery of Cultural Services Team
objectives.

 The role will work with other team members to share best practice and where appropriate, share resources to achieve
service level priorities.

 On a day-to-day basis, the job holder will be required to use initiative to progress day-to-day activities. More complex
issues will be referred to the Team Leader – Cultural Services.

 The role interacts with Cultural Services Managers, Cultural Services staff, service users, and other Council staff.

 Given the nature of the role, key relationships will include:
