The Sustainable Development Goal no. 13 is about climate change and its impacts.

According to the United Nations, this aims to climate action by reducing greenhouse gas emissions

and strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-induced impacts. It is very important

because it will improve the awareness-raising, education, and institutional and human capacity

mitigation. Impact reduction, early warning, and adaptation to climate change. The climatic change

has become a global concern over the last few decades. It affects life on the earth in various ways.

It has a great impact in our ecosystem and in our ecology. Because of climate change, several

species of plants and animals have gone extinct. A man due to his need and greed has done many

activities that harm the environment. Education is an essential element of the global response to

climate change. It helps people understand and addresses the impact of global warming, increases

“climate literacy” among young people, encourages changes in heir attitudes and behavior, and

helps them to adapt to climate change related trends. I can put into practice SDG no. 13 changing

what I eat. I can significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions by eating less meat, choosing local

foods when possible and buying food with less packaging. I can also participate with various

activity such as tree planting. When I was elementary student in Isabela, we are required to plant

a tree. And this small act can also make a change. There are many ways on how we can stop global

warming, but those changes should start with ourselves first. Our climate is in our hands so we

should act now.
