1 The history of human invention has not always been kind to the environment. Cars and coal factories
have partly driven global warming. Early air conditioners tore a massive hole in the ozone layer.
Pesticides have destroyed ecosystems and harmed wildlife. And now plastic is choking the oceans.
According to Gregory (2011) the earth is surrounded by plastic. It’s in the single-use packaging people
discard, the consumer goods that fill every stores, and in one’s clothing, which sheds micro-plastic fiber
in the wash.
As cited by Calafat (2009) in the first decade of this century, people made more plastic than all the
plastic in history up to the year 2000. And every year, billions of pounds of more plastic end up in the
world's oceans. Studies estimate there are now 15–51 trillion pieces of plastic in the world's oceans —
from the equator to the poles, from Arctic ice sheets to the sea floor. Not one square mile of surface-
ocean anywhere on earth is free of plastic pollution.
If current trends continue, 12 billion metric tons of plastic waste will exist in the world by 2050. That’s
1.6 metric tons, or the size of midsize car, for every human on the planet (Teuten et al. 2007)
Thus, the purpose of this paper is to inform everyone that global warming is real. It is a looming
problem that may give a serious impact in our ecology. Unless people begin to do something about
global warming soon, they will see dramatic changes in the ecology. They need to take it seriously
before it’s too late.
The proponents of this product innovation are students of mechanical engineering and they believe
that their product has the potential to reduce if not totally eradicate the amount of plastic on earth.

Our product is called Multi-brush. It is a single tool that holds three different types of
brushes for acrylic namely: a round brush, detailing brush, fan brush and it also has a
palette knife included. The Multi-brush works like a compass that can be flipped 180
degrees and has a cap for covering the brushes when not in use. Our product also
includes a box container for the Multi-brush which can also be used to store art papers
and other art materials.

o The Intended Audience

Multi-brush is for the professional artists, beginner artists, art students, and those
people who loves to paint as a hobby. Multi-brush can also be used by non-artistic
people who would like to try and experiment in painting. In other words, almost
everyone from grade school and above will benefit in using our product, the Multi-
brush.
o Function and Capabilities of the Product
o The Multi-brush is a multiple set of brushes combined into one product and since it is
combined into a one whole product, it can be easily carried everywhere. Moreover, the
multi-brush gives us the capabilities to be creative and amazingly transform our ideas
into colorful outputs through the multiple brushes. With that said, the multi-brush, can
be an effective push to finish your ideas.

o Major Parts: Function and Physical Characteristics.


o The Multi-brush is a multiple set of brushes combined into one product and since it is
combined into a one whole product, it can be easily carried everywhere. Moreover, the

into colorful outputs through the multiple brushes. With that said, the multi-brush, can
be an effective push to finish your ideas.
o The Multi-brush is a bamboo-bodied art material that is composed of three brushes
such as the round brush, detailing brush and fan brush. It also includes a palette knife
that is used to mix and applying paints. Its standard size when it is closed is 4inches and
when fully opened, its height spans up to 8 inches. The Multi-brush has a cap that has
three holes in it that will safely keep the brushes from being deformed. Each brush can
be used separately so as that while one material is being used, the other three are safely
covered with the cap to not distract the user.
o The Multi-brush has three (3) “legs” and a cap with an attached fan brush. The three (3)
“legs” will be a fine-detailing brush, a round brush and a palette knife. With the cap
having a fan brush, that’s all the basic stuff you need for painting on the go. Think of a
drafting compass but instead of only two (2) legs, you have the three (3) legs
mentioned. The cap will have three (3) exact sized holes for each leg which will act as a
storage when they are not in use.

Provide a step-by-step description of how to use your product or service / how your
product or service works.
The Multi-brush is very user-friendly because of its intuitive design. The main mechanism is
that of something like a simple drafting compass. However, unlike an ordinary drafting
compass you may bend the legs up to 180 degrees in each direction. With a mechanism like
this it easy to put the brush you need downwards while the ones not in use can stay pointed
upwards. It also comes with a cap so you can cover the brushes that aren’t in use. This way
they won’t get in the way. The container the multi-brush comes in may also be used in
other ways aside from storage. The upper part of the container may be used as a palette of
sorts while the lower half can act as a basin for paint thinner. The Multi-brush is all you
need for a compact and complete painting set.

It’s never too late for people who are determined to help save the nature. All they need to
do is to encourage people and make them realize that while there is still time, they need to
devise ways on how they can avoid the continuous destruction of the earth. Innovations can
be a big help. All they need to do is make use of the available resources so that they can
arrive at a bright idea and develop an amazing solution to stop global warming
