INTRODUCTION
Give an overview of the proposed project
The glue is in the form of a stick which is used for hot glue gun pistols. It is made from waste
plastic. It also can be various colours according to what color of plastic we use.

B. BACKGROUND
1. What problem(s) is/are the project supposed to solve?
The project was supposed to solve plastic waste that is very worrying and harmful for the
planet.
2. Is the problem widespread/immediate/critical?
The problems are critical for earth and the livin life on this planet.
3. What data/statistics/report/figures/graphs that show the prevalence of this problem?
Globally to date, there is about 8.3 billion tons of plastic in the world – some 6.3 billion
tons of that is trash. Imagine 55 million jumbo jets and that's how much plastic exists
here. In 1950, we created 2 million tons a year, which increased 200-fold by 2015.
4. Does this problem occur locally/globally/in a specific region of the world?
This problem occurs globally.
5. Why is the problem not solved yet/solved efficiently?
The problem with plastic is that most of it isn't biodegradable. It doesn't rot, like paper or
food, so instead it can hang around in the environment for hundreds of years. Each year,
400 million tonnes of plastic is produced and 40% of that is single-use - plastic we'll only
use once before it's binned.
6. Is there a market for this project? (Note: investigate the trends/similar solutions
regarding the problem, age group(s) affected by problem; ask “Is there people interested
in buying/investing in this solution?”)
These glue guns are rising across various industries like electronics, food, packaging and
others because of their easy use and better result. So, we can see that these industries
can be our target and they may be interested in our project.

C. MECHANISM
1. How does the project work?
we're just going to make a glue stick for a hot glue gun. We will change the shape of the
plastic into the shape of the glue stick.
2. How does the mechanism solve the problem(s) addressed?
reusing plastic and making the glue able to handle plastic disposal. It does not require
much cost to dispose of and can make something useful for the public.
3. What are the steps that should be taken to make this work?
The first step is we need to collect plastic which is thrown in the trash or that is littered.
Next, we will make a mold that is shaped suitable for the rod to be inserted into the hot
glue gun. Then, insert plastic into the mold and then burn it.
4. What ingredients/software/materials/apparatus/measurement tools are required?
Foil paper, waste plastic, bunsen burner, glove, test tube holder

D. SIGNIFICANCE
1. What test(s) should be conducted to show that the project works?
Stickiness test, adhesive resistance test
2. Is/Are there a test(s) that already exist(s) to measure whether the project works?
Stickiness test
3. What are the variables identified/involved (manipulated, responding, fixed)?
Manipulated is a type of plastic that we use. Responding is the stickiness and adhesive
resistance and fixed is material that we want to attach.
4. What are the steps to be taken to conduct the test? (E.g.: specific place, time,
temperature, etc.)
room temperature

E. NOVELTY
1. Does the same approach to solve the problem(s) addressed exist?
Yes, but we improve it with multi color for suitable material that we want to attach to.
2. Is the project better at solving the problem? (meta-analysis, if possible, could also be
speculative since there’s no data yet)
I searched for a study about glue guns and plastic. You can check it out. Link at reference.
3. Is there simulation/research that proves that this method works better?
Yes, I found it on youtube. Link at preference.
4. Is the project cheaper to carry out? (Note: investigate production cost/cost estimations,
if exist)
Yes, it is because we only need waste plastic and a few lab apparatus.
