Rectangular duct supports. Supports for rectangular ducts as set forth

in Table 6.7 when suspended fromabove shall be installed on two SAES-K-100

opposite sides of each duct and shall be riveted, bolted or metal Section 604.2

Horizontal round duct supports. Horizontal round ducts 40 inches

(1016 mm) or less in diameter when suspended from above shall be
supported at intervals not more than as set forth in Table 6.7 with one

hanger installed to comply with the requirements listed below:

1. Ducts shall be equipped with tightfitting circular bands extending
around the entire perimeter of the duct at each specified support
interval.

2. Circular bands shall not be less than 1 inch (25mm) wide nor SAES-K-100
less than equivalent to the gage of the duct material it supports. Section 604.2.2

3. Each circular band shall be provided with a suitable means of SAES-K-100

connecting to the suspending support. Section 604.2.3

4. Ducts shall be braced and guyed to prevent lateral or horizontal SAES-K-100

swing. Section 604.2.4

Horizontal Duct shall have a support within two feet of each elbow and SAES-K-001

Fastener (for supporting ducts from wall) shall be located within 1" of the
duct edge (wall side) and within 2" of the duct outer edge. Minimum of 3 SAES-K-001

on 24" width and up is required in addition along sides nearest anchors. Para 4.8.12.6
(SMACNA FIG 5-9)

Rectangular duct risers from floor shall be supported by angles

or channels secured to the sides of duct with welds, bolts, sheet metal
screws, or blind rivets. (SMACNA Para 5.2.10)
Note: 1-If the spacing of the fasteners are not specified / shown, then SAES-K-001

spacing shall be as instructed by Saudi Aramco. Para 4.8.12.6
2- Angle sizes and their spacing shall be as shown on the Construction
Drawings, if they are not shown / specified, then sizes and spacing shall
be as instructed bySaudi Aramco.

Round Ducts riser from floor shall be supported by split band support by
supplemental angle or channel spanning the slab opening or as
recommended by the manufacturer. Minimum of two fasteners in each
half of band is required. (SMACNA FIG. 5-10) SAES-K-001

Note: No. of fasteners and spacing shall be as shown in Construction Para 4.8.12.6
drawings. If Construction drawings do not address the number of the
fasteners and/or spacing of them then the number of the fasteners and
spacing shall be as instructed by Saudi Aramco (SMACNA FIG 5-10)

Riser support intervals should be at one or two storey intervals as
