Kiva’s Site Projects

First of all, if you don’t know what Kiva is, it is basically a website that helps people who can’t ask for
loans to the banks. Kiva is a tool for them so they can post their projects en people around the world can lend
them money and in a future get their money back.

Here I found a person name Allah, from Bethlehem-West Bank, Palestine. He tells that que needs a
loan of $2,000 so he can buy a solar system in order to heat the water in his house and reduce the use of energy.
Before talking more about his projects let see who is Allah and what is his story.

Alla is a kind young man that is trying his best to be a self reliant person so he can provide a happy and
decent life for his family. He is 32 years old and he and his family lives at Bethlehem, West Bank. He works in
the private sector where he earn not a lot of money.

Due to the low income he receives, he barely can cover all of the family needs, here is where he came
up with an idea to reduce some costs of the house. He wants to invest his $2,000 loan to buy a solar system that
will help him heat the water in his house.

By making this investment he will reduce a big part of bills from the house and save more money so he
can provide a better life to his family. He wants to make this change so badly so he can give education to his
kids so that they can live their normal life as kids.

This is loan is special because it provides access to environmentally friendly products so by helping
him and his family it will be a great help to the environment because he will reduce the use of electricity in his
home and take advantage of natural resources.

The length of the loan would be 27 months, that is around to years and 3 months, probably is a long
time for the repayment but it will help a lot this kind man who wants to give a better life to his family. Allah is
paying interest to the people that will help him with the money and the repayment schedule would be monthly.

So far he has collected around $1,050 that is the half of he is asking for, 52% if we want to be more
specific. Up to day 34 person have lend Allah money so he can continue with his project and he has 27 days left
to collect all the money he needs.

Finally, why I choose to talk about this project? I’m currently studying Engineering in Renewable
Energies and the intention of this person and his mentality of trying to solve his problem with natural resources,
in this case the sun, is interesting to me and tells a lot of this person because his solution doesn’t affect the
environment.
