Why was the company chosen?

the quality company selected to make the demand is fictitious, however, it refers to the number of
companies in the vicinity of the Boyacá industrial corridor, which carry out a series of activities that do
not take into account the degree of contamination and affectation that present and do not take
management measures on it, the contamination on which the demand emphasizes is the particulate
material (PM), contamination that being present in the atmosphere can be identified organoleptically,
since a short explosion in this begins to generate discomfort in breathing.

How does this company contribute to pollution in our world? The affectations caused by the high
emission of particulate material generated in the company crushed the east that comes off due to the
exploitation, extraction and crushing of raw material such as in this case Gravel, puts at risk the
different ecosystems present around This, since these particles do not settle and sometimes it is kept
in the air, being transported by the meteorological conditions to different important sources such as a
nearby water resource (Chicamocha river) .In the same way, the explosion to the contamination is
affecting the health of the surrounding population and in turn the visibility of the area.

What opinions and demands did you express in the formal letter you sent? Since it is an ongoing
project, some management and control measure must be presented in the generation of emissions, in
order to avoid an increase in the deterioration of health related to the exposure of the contaminant
that is currently being presented by the neighboring population In the same way, it is intended to
demand a measure of correction or compensation for the damages already generated to the
ecosystem, such as the high presence of sediments in the Chicamocha River.

Ecological solution to the problem:

• For vehicle traffic, speed control methods and micro routes will be implemented
• The storage yards will be relocated away from the Chicamocha river and the roads must be
constantly wetted.
• Planting of plant species. Installation of live barriers
• The entire crushing-grinding area must be covered with tarpaulins, which will have the
corresponding height to maintain optimal ventilation, preventing particles from dispersing in
the surrounding communities.
• Treatment focused on reducing solids in the Chicamocha River in order to mitigate the
contamination already presented.

How this positively impacts the environment: The effects on health from exposure to the
pollutant will be significantly reduced and the company will continue to operate without
causing discomfort to the population, the landscape and the environment, hand in hand with
the concept of sustainable development, which is currently sought in the industry.
