• adjust the charge pressure valve (see
tramming pump, valve CP)
• rotate the switch S/F in slow tramming range.
• select one tramming direction.
• when pushing the accelerator to get full engine
RPM, the HP gauge should show 440 bar. At
this tramming pressure the charge pressure
gauge should show a minimum of 12 bar. If not,
the tramming circuit is defective and must be carefully check. Some components are internally leaking calling
for replacement.
• the tramming circuit at 440 bar the wheels must not rotate. If they rotate, the multidisk brakes must be carefully
check.
• repeat the same procedure in the opposite tramming direction.
3.2 ACCELERATOR
Fresh oil from the tramming reservoir flows to the charge circuit. A large amount of this flow is used for cooling the
tramming components. Oil flows from the pump housing to the top part of the cooler (the bottom part of the cooler is
used by the diesel cooling fluid)
OIL AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE, THE PRESSURE IN THE PUMP HOUSING MUST BE BELOW 2 BAR.
• measure the housing pressure, install a 10 bar gauge at the test point R.
• Run the engine at full RPM, read the pressure.
In cool weather conditions, two bypass valves are installed on the cooling circuit. They consist in 2 bar preset check
valves.
705
702
From the pump one case drain T2 bring the oil to the cooler. The valve 702 is located at the cooler inlet port.
From the case drain port T1, surge of pressure can release to tank through valve 705. This valve works as a safety
device.
Keep the machine on stabilizers no wheels in contact to the ground.

The high-pressure circuit includes 2 safety port relief valves on each main lines HP A and HP B and a high-pressure
control valve.
The high-pressure control valve is working in normal tramming conditions. It maintains the pressure to a maximum of
440 bar.
The safety relief HPA & HPB work only as safety, their settings are higher, 470 bar.

glasses and gloves. Use only 600 bar gauges
when testing HP tramming pressures.
• start the engine.
• engage one tramming direction, slowly
increase the Diesel RPM.
• Reading the HP gauge, set the 440 bar valve higher.
• the pressure should increase up to 470 bar and
stop.
440 bar
Keep this high-pressure for few seconds only as the oil
overheat through the HP safety relief.
• adjust the HP relief if the pressure is not correct.
• in forward direction adjust valve HPA
• adjust HPB in backward direction.
• reset immediately the 440 bar valve at that pressure.

THE DIESEL ENGINE REACHES AROUND 200
REVOLUTIONS HIGHER THAN IDLE.

703
The gear pump 703 supplies oil to the steering, the stabilizers and finally to the cable reel.
Relief valve 2100 first controls the pressure. Priority valve 2101 shares the flow to the stabilizers when the steering
is not used.

Rotate the cable reel switch fully clockwise.
• you should feel a strong resistance when pulling the
cable by hands. Adjust the relief valve W to adjust
the resistance.

FAST FEED
Check the fast feed relief valve 30.
• maintain the rockdrill in rear position, keep the
Average time to achieve fast feed lever engaged
• the feed gauge at the drilling panel should

• adjust screw a. in forward motion
• adjust screw b.in reverse
DRILLING FEED
• rotate the auto return A-R switch to the left in
manual mode.
A-R • using the drill feed lever F maintain the
rockdrill in forward position at the end of its
travel. Keep the circuit pressurized.
• rotate the feed pressure knob from minimum
to maximum position.

Caution devices:

115°C
Main power pack running (kmd1 contact closes)
and no emergency button pushed down (ku0
contact closes) powers this circuit and KT0 relay.
0 The timed relay KAM3 authorizes the compressor
KT0 KAM3 KM3 KM4 and the water pump to run.
Pressure switches location If there is one of the switches not correct (oil
overheating or water inlet missing or air pressure
S54 below 2.5 bar) the relay turns OFF.
S70 S67
The compressor and the water pump stop. All
joysticks return to neutral due to wire 51 no longer
powered. The caution light glows orange.
When you first start the machine, there is no air
pressure. The KAM3 timer allows some delay for
air pressure to build-up to 2.5 bar (switch S67) the
minimum required pressure.
Pressure switch E54 is set to 15 bar. Use of water
flushing pressurizes the switch E54. It powers the
water pump contactor KM3.
5.4.2 SETTINGS.
WATER INLET PRESSURE S70
Water inlet
• connect the water hose to the machine.
1502
• make sure the strainer 1501 is not clogged.
• using the pressure reducer 1502, drop the
1501 water pressure down to 2.5 bar. Check the
contact of the pressure switch S70. It should
close at 2.5 bar.
• reset the water pressure at 4 bar to 5 bar
(where possible, depending on mine water
pressure)

IMPULSE CYLINDERS
Check first the stroke of each impulse cylinder.
• bring the rockdrill fully to the front of the
drillfeed.
• adjust the cable to set the position of the
rockdrill. Ensure some clearance between
the coupling and the moving centralizer.
Refer to the drillfeed service manual.
• adjust the mechanical stop to push the rod of
BL S the cylinder according to the distance S , 10
mm (1/2 inch).
Setting pressure
• put a gauge at the pressure test point 922.
• run the powerpack.
• the pressure should be 5 bar.
• adjust the reducer 900 if not correct.
Thoroughly bleed the impulse cylinders
• undo slowly the bleeding plug BL.
• Re-tighten it when there is no longer air
bubbles.
• repeat the process for the opposite cylinder.
PRESSURE SWITCHES
• preset both pressure switches to 20 bar.
• at the control panel, rotate the auto-return electric switch to central position.
• USING THE DRILLING FEED LEVER, bring the rockdrill fully forward reading the gauge.
Check the pressure switch using the slow feed lever, the speed is closer to the speed in real drilling condition at
the face.
• the pressure should rise around 25 bar (depending on the speed and oil temperature).
• the contact of the switch S80 should close.
• feed and percussion joysticks return to neutral.
• rotation is still running.
• the rockdrill returns to the rear of the drillfeed.
Repeat the same process for the switch S81 when the drifter reaches the end of the rear travel.
COLD STARTING
• keep the auto return switch is central position.
• when the machine has not been used for a shift.
• looking at the feed gauge, start the powerpack.
• if the gauge shows 180 bar, a pick of pressure happens due to viscosity of the cool oil. This surge of pressure
engages the automatic return.
• check and set pressure switch S80 a little higher .
• check again all auto return functions.
ANTI JAMMING
• plug the rotation hose P at the drifter port,
cap the fitting to prevent contamination of
oil.
• remove the knob from the rotation speed
control valve (item 59 on hydraulic
schematic)
• rotate the adjusting screw using an Allen key
fully in.
AJ • Install the knob back onto the screw.
NOTE : the rotation knob includes a plastic
spacer inside the knob itself.
• tighten the locking screw to secure the knob
on the adjusting screw.
• undo fully the rotation main relief valve 53.
• turn the auto return to Off position.
• start the powerpack.
• bring the rockdrill fully forward, keep
pressurized.
• set the feed pressure to 90 bar using the feed
knob.(item 20 on hydraulic schematic).
• slowly increase the rotation pressure by
rotation the relief valve 53.
