3.2 ACCELERATOR

Charge circuit supplies oil to the accelerator.

To ensure full acceleration, look at the stroke of the
P accelerator cylinder.
L N • keep the machine lift-up on stabilizers
• remove the pin P, make sure the cylinder is fully
retracted. The pin should go freely in the hole. If not
adjust the yoke to line-up the holes.
• loosen the nut N, adjust the yoke.
Maximum acceleration :
• push on the accelerator pedal fully.
• by hand rotate the injection lever L to its mechanical
stop. Check for correct lining-up of the yoke to the lever.
• Make sure that the cylinder does not stress the injection
lever.

3.3 TRAMMING COOLING CIRCUIT

Fresh oil from the tramming reservoir flows to the charge circuit. A large amount of this flow is used for cooling the
tramming components. Oil flows from the pump housing to the top part of the cooler (the bottom part of the cooler is
used by the diesel cooling fluid)

OIL AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE, THE PRESSURE IN THE PUMP HOUSING MUST BE BELOW 2 BAR.

• measure the housing pressure, install a 10 bar gauge at the test point R.
• Run the engine at full RPM, read the pressure.
In cool weather conditions, two bypass valves are installed on the cooling circuit. They consist in 2 bar preset check
valves.

3.5 BRAKES

Every wheel motor includes an emergency & parking multidisk brake.

The brakes are "pressure released, spring applied " type.
The charge circuit supplies the require pressure to release the brakes. The charge pressure gauge is connected to
the pressure point : PpP.

CHECKING SEQUENCE VALVE 629

This valve applies the brakes automatically when the operator pushes the inching pedal.
• install a 60bar gauge at the pressure point PpB
• start the engine, reading the gauge at Pp1 (at the tramming selector block) slowly push the inching pedal.
• when the pressure in Pp1 drops to 5 bar, the brake pressure in PpB should drop slowly. The oil from the brake
cylinders from line B releases to tank through the 2.5mm orifice installed in E, allowing smooth braking.
If not check the orifice in E.

SEQUENCE VALVE 627

This emergency sequence valve applies automatically the brakes when the charge pressure drops below 12 bar. That
could happen when one of the HP hose burst. The charge pressure leaks through the damage hose resulting in a
pressure drop. Therefore the sequence 627 shifts applying the brakes.
• using an external wire maintain the solenoid Y92 energized from a permanent 24Volt source.
• Start the engine.
• wait few seconds for a correct charge pressure then, reading the gauge in PpB, turn the contact key to neutral.
The pressure in line B should drop slowly from 30 to 12 bar. At 12 bar it must drop a lot faster.
• the pressure B dropping faster shows the shifting point of the sequence valve 627. Re-adjust if not correct.
• place the original wire on solenoid Y92.
• Keep the machine on stabilizers.

Caution devices:
• E70, correct water inlet, minimum 2 bar.
• E67, correct air pressure, minimum 2.5 bar.
• SM4, compressor oil temperature, setting
115°C
Main power pack running (kmd1 contact closes)
and no emergency button pushed down (ku0
contact closes) powers this circuit and KT0 relay.
0 The timed relay KAM3 authorizes the compressor
KT0 KAM3 KM3 KM4 and the water pump to run.
Pressure switches location If there is one of the switches not correct (oil
overheating or water inlet missing or air pressure
S54 below 2.5 bar) the relay turns OFF.
S70 S67
The compressor and the water pump stop. All
joysticks return to neutral due to wire 51 no longer
powered. The caution light glows orange.
When you first start the machine, there is no air
pressure. The KAM3 timer allows some delay for
air pressure to build-up to 2.5 bar (switch S67) the
minimum required pressure.
Pressure switch E54 is set to 15 bar. Use of water
flushing pressurizes the switch E54. It powers the
water pump contactor KM3.

• make sure the strainer 1501 is not clogged.
• using the pressure reducer 1502, drop the
1501 water pressure down to 2.5 bar. Check the
contact of the pressure switch S70. It should
close at 2.5 bar.
• reset the water pressure at 4 bar to 5 bar
(where possible, depending on mine water
pressure)

COMPRESSOR - AIR PRESSURE SWITCH S67

• undo fully the compressor adjusting screw V.

• start the power pack, wait until the
compressor starts.
• ensure that the air filter is correct, look at the
clogging indicator Ci.
• using screw V, drop the air pressure to 2.5
bar.
• at this air pressure the contact of the switch
S67 should close.
• install a 0 /10 bar gauge at the drifter air inlet
port.
• reset the compressor pressure to get 2.5 bar
of pressure at the inlet of the rockdrill.

PRESSURE SWITCH S54 - FLUSHING CONTROL

• pull the flushing lever half way
• the contact of the pressure switch S54 should
close, the water pump starts.

5.4.3 AUTO RETURN

BASIC SCHEMATIC
The joystick circuit supplies oil to the auto return
circuit.
Sample for the reverse end of travel. The pressure reduced to 5 bar by the pressure
reducer 900 flows through the check valve 913
to :
S81
P • the pressure switch S81.
922 900 • the relief valve 128.
913 IN • the impulse cylinder 130.
When pushing the rod of the impulse cylinder, oil
flows back to the control block.
To escape to tank it should passes through the
130
relief valve 128. That creates a surge of pres-
128 sure.
The surge closes the contact of the pressure
switch S81.
When the rockdrill reaches the front of the drill-
feed, it operates the pressure switch S80.

IMPULSE CYLINDERS
Check first the stroke of each impulse cylinder.
• bring the rockdrill fully to the front of the
drillfeed.
• adjust the cable to set the position of the
rockdrill. Ensure some clearance between
the coupling and the moving centralizer.
Refer to the drillfeed service manual.
• adjust the mechanical stop to push the rod of
BL S the cylinder according to the distance S , 10
mm (1/2 inch).
Setting pressure
• put a gauge at the pressure test point 922.
• run the powerpack.
• the pressure should be 5 bar.
• adjust the reducer 900 if not correct.
Thoroughly bleed the impulse cylinders
• undo slowly the bleeding plug BL.
• Re-tighten it when there is no longer air
bubbles.
• repeat the process for the opposite cylinder.
PRESSURE SWITCHES
• preset both pressure switches to 20 bar.
• at the control panel, rotate the auto-return electric switch to central position.
• USING THE DRILLING FEED LEVER, bring the rockdrill fully forward reading the gauge.
Check the pressure switch using the slow feed lever, the speed is closer to the speed in real drilling condition at
the face.
• the pressure should rise around 25 bar (depending on the speed and oil temperature).
• the contact of the switch S80 should close.
• feed and percussion joysticks return to neutral.
• rotation is still running.
• the rockdrill returns to the rear of the drillfeed.
Repeat the same process for the switch S81 when the drifter reaches the end of the rear travel.
COLD STARTING
• keep the auto return switch is central position.
• when the machine has not been used for a shift.
• looking at the feed gauge, start the powerpack.

THE FEED GAUGE MUST STAY AROUND 0 BAR

• if the gauge shows 180 bar, a pick of pressure happens due to viscosity of the cool oil. This surge of pressure
engages the automatic return.
• check and set pressure switch S80 a little higher .
• check again all auto return functions.
