Simple Past

 Remember.is a verb tense which is used to show that a completed

action took place at a specific time in the past. The simple past is
also frequently used to talk about past habits and generalizations.
Ex.
 Statement: You called Lucy.
 Question: Did you call Lucy?
 Affirmative: Yes, I called Lucy
 Negative: No, I didn’t call Lucy

-Used to, Past habits:

We use used to, to talk about past habits or things that don’t
happen/exist anymore.
*Used to, has the same form in all persons and is followed by the bare
infinitive of the main verb.
Structure: Subject (+) used to (+) verb infinitive / verb in base form
Ex:
’When I was a child…
 I used to drink milk in a baby bottle (I don’t do it anymore)
 I used to play video games every day (it was time ago; I don’t do it now)
 My Mother used to eat meat, but now I’m a vegetarian

*we form de interrogative and negative form with the auxiliary verb did/did
not (didn’t)

Ex… (int.) Did Kassandra use to eat green mangos?

(aft.) Yes, Kassandra used to eat green mangos
(neg.) No, Kassandra didn’t use to eat green mangos.
