PREPOSITIONS OF TIME
A preposition of time is a preposition that allows you to express a
specific time period such as a date on the calendar, one of the days of the
week, or the actual time something takes place.
In this unit we will work with three main prepositions if time: at, on, in.

Note:
We don’t use these prepositions with the expressions:
Today, tomorrow, yesterday, next _____, last _______, this morning,
tonight, and every_____, among others.
E.g
1- I take classes in every day (incorrect)
I take classes every day (correct)
1- Complete with the corresponding preposition (in, at, on), put ´´X´´ if
none of them is valid.
1) Lucy is arriving _on___ February the 13th _at__ eight o'clock _in___
the morning.
2) The weather is often terrible in London __in___ January.
3) Columbus sailed to the Americas __in____ the 16th century.
4) The train leaves ____ tomorrow morning ____at___ 8:00 am.
5) The class is _at____ 9 am ___on_ Monday mornings.
6) I like to drink coffee __in___ the morning and tea __in___ the
afternoon.
7) We went out for dinner _____ last Wednesday.
8) She left London _on___ the 4th of March.
9) We're meeting __in__ lunchtime ____ next Tuesday.
10) He was born ___in_ 1991.
11) It starts _____ tomorrow.
12) It will be ready ___in_ eight months.
Writing
1- Mention some places you like to go on vacation.
Ex. Summer Camp, visit other countries, visit a family member.
- I would like to go to Punta Cana.
- I would like to go visit my grandparents.
- I would like to visit Dubai.
2- Mention some activities you like to do on vacation.
Ex. Go fishing, take drama classes, play some games.
- I would like to take some spa sections.
- I would like to play tennis with my friends.
- I would like to go to the gym in the morning.
A letter to a friend.
3- Imagine that you are on a vacation trip and write a letter to a
friend telling him/her your experience, using one of the places and
the activities that you mentioned before.
Follow the steps down below.
1- Date and greeting:
Month and day (March 13)
Dear (friend’s first name),
2- Introduction:
Paragraph 1 – opening observations, what the place/weather is like.
3- Main body:
Paragraph 2 – what you do every day (morning, afternoon and
evening).
Paragraph 3 – what you are doing this weekend.
4- Conclusion:
Paragraph 4 – closing observations.
5- Farewell:

Read the following example and take it as a reference:

here the weather is wonderful, you can do a lot of things in the morning

and to have a great cup of coffee, in the afternoons we take a catamaran
ride and tour the beautiful coast.
