FLOOR HARDENER
PART I - GENERAL
B. A. The work shall consist of the non-metallic floor hardener applied onto the
screeded concrete floors of the concrete floor slabs and other related items
necessary to complete the work as indicated in the drawings, described in the
engineering Specifications and in accordance with the manufacture
recommendation.
1.3 SUBMITALS
D. Samples: Submit two samples of the floor hardener and the curing compound, 300
x 300 mm. in size.

The non-metallic floor hardener shall be applied by either one of the following
methods in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation:-
A. Topping method:
The minimum thickness of 5 cm. of screed shall be placed and troweled on the
required floor level prior to the application of non-metallic floor hardener. While
the screed is still wet, the hardener shall be added to it.
B. Monolithic method:
Non-metallic floor hardener shall be applied directly onto the recently laid
concrete substrate, tamped and floated. The application process shall be finished
on the same day upon the covering of the slab.
