The research if researching the play patterns of children at home and in school. The researcher
decided to use qualitative approaches, mixing interviews with topics (where, when, how or why
they play games, what kinds of games, experiences and expectations they have experienced,
what were their “unforgettable moments”) and observations of children playing games.
Researchers try to break up the interview into meaningful subsections, each with their own short
introduction, mixing one-to-one interviews with other kinds of tasks such as asking children to
draw a picture relevant to the topic, or using puppets or dolls in role play games for very young
children, or using various pen-and-paper exercises.
Observations of children playing electronic games in natural environments with observations in
controlled settings allowing to get a more accurate picture of children’s actual gaming behavior.
The designation of the place where the child lives and play outdoors may also be ambiguous in
different cultures. A large number of children live in flats and don’t have access to private
gardens. The experience of playing outdoors is mostly associated with public spaces. Houses
with private gardens are mostly associated with high, and they are called “Houses”. However, a
child who lives in an illegal house self-made by their parents.
Some of the methods covered here are quantitative, dealing with something that can be counted.
Others are qualitative, meaning that they consider factors other than numerical values. In
general, questionnaires, surveys, and documents and records are quantitative, while interviews,
focus groups, observations, and oral histories are qualitative. There can also be crossover
between the two methods.
Data analysis can take various formats. The method you choose depends on the subject matter
of your research.
 Understanding qualitative data collection
 Qualitative research methods
 Using data to determine values
 Different quantitative research approaches
While these issues are indeed a key part of research ethics, there are also wider issues about
standards of conduct.
 Honesty and Integrity
 Objectivity
 Carefulness
 Confidentiality
 Responsible Publication
 Legality

If we were attempting to predict the monthly sales of a particular product in a might consider
the model:
Monthly sales of Product X = a + b1 Price (X) + b2 Price (Y) + b3 Income + b4 Advertising
Where ‘a’ is called the constant of the model and represents the sales level if none of the other
variables is present. The ‘b’s are the coefficients of the model which represent the contributions
Student Name: Moin Uddin Ahmed ID: 11925
of the selected independent variables. The variables Price (X) and Price (Y) can be measured on
a continuous scale and are hence called continuous variables. The variables Income and
Advertising are sometimes used as categorical variables and are used to represent different
income groups and different levels of advertising expenditure on X, such as high and low.
Section: A
If one can assume for the moment that the speculative model is acceptable, then data collected
on selected variables are usually classified into independent and dependent types. Here, for
example, the independent variables are the monthly price of X, monthly price of Y, income
groups and advertising expenditure. For the same period, the actual sales of product X are
recorded, which is the dependent or response variable. An independent variable is a variable
that is expected to influence the dependent variable

Part 3A:
A prevalent theme in fast fashion consumer research focused on comparing purchasing
decisions of fast fashion consumers and the sustainable consumers. Fast fashion consumers who
supported environmental issues but practiced unsustainable apparel consumption behavior. The
authors found that fast fashion consumers supported the idea of sustainability but not when it
applied to fashion products; the newness and low cost of products encouraged consumption.
Qualitative researchers need to “position themselves in their writings” and acknowledge
“experiences that he or she brings to a qualitative research study” through reflecting on his/her
background, preconceptions, beliefs and attitudes toward the research topic and other relevant
issues.
Part 3B:
To address the research purpose, the following research questions were developed to guide the
study:
Q1. What were lived, everyday experiences of women in emerging adulthood when they
consumed large quantities of fast fashion apparel?
Q2. What meanings did the young women attach to acquiring large quantities of fast fashion
apparel?
Q 3. What internal and external conditions promoted these individuals’ fast fashion
consumption?
Q4. For what reasons did the young women buy large quantities of fast fashion apparel?
Part 3C:
This research explored lived experiences of women and men in emerging adulthood who
consumed large quantities of fast fashion apparel, and why they bought this level of apparel.
Specifically, the study sought to understand the meaning the women and men attached to their
clothing as they shopped for, acquired, wore, stored, and disposed of fast fashion apparel. To
address the purpose of the study, a qualitative research method was utilized.
Part 3D:
Principle components factor analyses with orthogonal rotation were used for data reduction and
to check construct validity of measures. Factor analyses were conducted for all the variables on
items measuring social comparison, perceived similarity to the model, beliefs about the model’s
Student Name: Moin Uddin Ahmed ID: 11925
appearance, perceived fashion ability of the model, purchase intention toward the model’s
outfit, and body satisfaction.
The tested using a simple regression analysis. The similarity score was regarded as the
independent variable and purchase intention was the dependent variable. Results showed a
significant positive relationship between the two variables. It can be concluded that the more
similar the participant felt to the model, the more she / he wanted to purchase the model’s outfit.
This result provides support for the value of indicated that similarity to the model explained 32
percent of the variance in purchase intention toward the outfit the model was wearing.
Part 3E:
The results of this study may help young consumers to understand why they consume large
amounts of fast fashion apparel, which might encourage them to be more thoughtful when
making purchasing decisions or consider wearing their existing clothing for longer periods of
time. From a theoretical perspective, this research will add to consumer behavior literature as
fast fashion consumption has been understudied. Additionally, several social psychology
theories, such as upward social comparison and possible selves, were utilized to explain the
meanings of fast fashion for young women consumers.
Scholars have researched fast fashion from different perspectives, resulting in various
definitions of the phenomenon. Fast fashion has been described as retail and supply chain
strategies that offer affordable, trendy apparel of low quality to consumers within the shortest
time possible.

The following chapter summarizes findings from previous studies that explored women and
men perceived similarity and attraction to models in advertisements and how exposure to thin
models affects personal body satisfaction. Three theories form the basis of the theoretical
framework in this study: theory of attraction, source credibility theory, and social comparison
theory. Based on the literature review and theoretical framework, research variables for this
study were determined and specific objectives formulated. To explore women’s and men’s
perceptions and attitudes towards different size models and examine relationships between
research constructs, the research hypotheses were developed and are presented.

Case Study
My learning

My stay with someone have been very interesting challenging and frustrating sometimes, I
believe in the say which says learning takes place anywhere not necessarily a four wall room
in the name of classroom, I have learnt a lot to begin with I have learnt how to solve
problems at the family level as well as group level in several occasions I have been taught how
to solve problems theoretically but with someone made me a plat form where I face a challenge
and solve it without causing chaos among the people in the society.
Second I have learnt to be patient, not everything that you want can be settled immediately some
takes time so without patience you will not be able to work with people in every occasion
since people are of different nature some does not know on how to manage time while others
cannot finish their duties on time so what is highly needed is patience so that we can reach our
set goals.

Third I have learnt about united kingdom culture this has been a very vital learning because
it has created good environment for me to achieve my long term goal of perusing my bachelor’s
degree in one of the universities in the Karachi (Pakistan), with this knowledge I am now a step
ahead on achieving the long term goal.
Fourth facilitation skills, my facilitation skills were poor with someone I have learnt of the new
techniques and had a chance to put them into practice example when I had a chance to run a session
with the peer to peer team.
What changed?
I have been with one goal of becoming a planning officer after graduating from the college
after joining someone my perspective has changed that is I have come to realize that I have
potential skills that enables me to join monitoring and evaluation firm, I came to realize this after
participating in monitoring and evaluation team where we had to do surveys run data analysis and
write reports. I have become aware of myself and I am looking forward to join a monitoring and
evaluation firm and in the future to become independent monitoring and evaluator.
My self-esteem has improved a lot before joining I could not step up for duties until I am told
but being I have courage and now I voluntary take duties and ensure are performed effectively
example I was the chair person during the first social, second community action day, and the
debrief as well as leading monitoring and evaluation team.
Leadership skills has improved as I have been given such positions to hold in the team also working
hand in hand with our leaders have make me improve my leadership skills. I have also come
to realize that development or change does not come overnight but it is a gradual change that takes
place slow but sure.
My story:
I came to another place with a knowledge of writing business plan, which I acquired while I was
at the collage I was not aware that it is something of substance that some people in the
community would also want to have it, I came to realize it when we were conducting the first
community action day where I was on the stand dealing with business plan and
entrepreneurship I was pleased to see my fellow youths were eager to learn more about the business
plan and entrepreneur ship what made me more happy is that after the first community action
day I had several phone calls inviting me to help in writing business plan for peoples
businesses I also produced a guideline that helped in production of sample business plans.

6A):
This would be a causal study because the operator wants to prove to the supervisor that the fumes are
causing operators to be low in their efficiency. In other words, the machine tool operator is trying to
establish the fact that fumes cause low efficiency in workers.

6B):
This is an analytical study because the machine tool operator wants to establish that fumes cause low
efficiency and convince his workshop supervisor through such analysis (i.e. establish cause and effect
relationship).
Student Name: Moin Uddin Ahmed ID: 11925
6C):
This would be a field experiment. Though the study would be set up in the natural environment of the
workers where the work is normally done, the amount of fumes will have to be manipulated while other
factors such as atmospheric pressure may have to be controlled. Because of the location of the study, it
will be a field experiment.

6D):
The unit of analysis would be the individual operators. The data will be collected with respect to each
operator and then the conclusions will be made as to whether the operators are less efficient because of
the fumes emitted in the workshop.

6E):
This would be a longitudinal study because data will be gathered at more than one point in time. First,
the efficiency of the operators would be assessed at a given rate of fume emission. Then the fumes
emitted would be manipulated to varying degrees, and at each manipulation, the efficiency of the
workers would again be assessed to confirm that the high rate of fume emission causes a drop in
operators’ efficiency
