Introduction
About
Just Dial Limited is India's No. 1 Local Search engine that provides local search related
services to users across India through multiple platforms such as website, mobile website,
Apps (Android, iOS, Windows), over the telephone (voice, pan India number
8888888888) and text (SMS).Justdial has also initiated ‘Search Plus’ services for its users.
These services aim at making several day-to-day tasks conveniently actionable and
accessible to users through one App. By doing so, it has transitioned from being purely a
provider of local search and related information to being an enabler of such transactions.
Justdial has also recently launched JD Omni, an end-to-end business management
solution for SMEs, through which it intends to transition thousands of SMEs to efficiently
run their business online and have adequate online presence via their own website and
mobile site. Apart from this, it has also launched JD Pay, a unique solution for quick
digital payments for its users and vendors, and JD Social, its official social sharing
platform to provide curated content on latest happenings to users. The organisation also
aims to make communication between users and businesses seamless through its Real
Time Chat Messenger.

JUSTDIAL: A WEBLESS SOCIAL MEDIA
and the rating of local restaurants, they just dial JustDial and pose their query as a text or
avoice message via a mobile phone, just as someone would enter an online search query
in Google, Tripadvisor or Amazon. Within 30-45 seconds, Justdial’s call-center provides
an answer or directly connects the user to a recommended vendor of the requested
service if he/she so preferred. Depending on the user’s preference, the answer can be
texted, phoned, or e-mailed to the user. JustDial users have either a high-tech option of
browsing online or receiving information through low-tech (or “appropriate-tech”)
means, such as through mobile phone text messages or e-mails.
Like Google, Tripadvisor or Amazon, the query responses are generated from a
combination of software applications and databases. Moreover, similar to its online
counterparts, JustDial also collects users’ ratings and harvests information about users’
useprofiles based on their search histories. A combination of service-providers
subscription information, user-profile information, the user’s physical location tracked
through locationtracking technologies, such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and
service-product providers ratings collected from users over a period of time, are used as
the information-base for answering queries. In addition, information about the user’s
“Tagged Friends” is used to further support the social recommendation features of the
service. Like Google’s sponsored links and Groupon’s sponsor recommendations, JustDial
also generates revenues from commercial subscribers.

❖ They can add a toll free SMS service for the customers so as to provide them with
an additional option of using the justdial service. Customers can send an SMS as
“taxi service” “new delhi” and send it to a toll free number based on which the
appropriate response will be provided.
❖ As per our marketing research people give most preference to search results. So
Just Dial should try to make search results as informative as possible

Conclusion
Justdial has diversified its business majorly and the company today has come a long way
from providing contact details over phone to selling real estate and booking flights online
While this is a very commendable thing, the company seems to have lost sight of its core
competencies. It is now more focused on entering new markets and trying to compete
with other e-commerce companies rather than consolidate its position and innovate to
try to enter the untapped SME market. By diversifying the business, the company has
ended up in a situation where it is competing with numerous companies not just one or
two.
