Let us begin our definition and understanding of globalization with this example or narrative to show
that globalization is a real phenomenon that we cannot ignore or avoid.
Through this narrative I realize that the phenomenon of Globalization is inevitable, and we
cannot avoid buying products or goods that are produced abroad since other goods are not available
locally, and even if they are available locally they are more costly. As you can see in my photo collage,
this is my desk setup while I am homeschooling. All these products are made from different countries,
while the other products are made in the Philippines. Honestly locally produced goods are okay to me
since Philippine products has a good quality also like products from abroad. I also read in one article that
many foreign apparel/products are produced here in our country, they just don’t put a “made in the
Philippines” label.

Before when I was a kid, I used to patronize products that are made abroad especially the one
that are made in the USA. My perspective before is that if products are made abroad, they are more
sturdy and will last long. This time, I am now enjoying locally produced goods since they are easily
accessible and has a good quality too. I realized that Globalization has a huge impact in our society,
economically and culturally and that is the thing that we cannot avoid. With the advance technology
right now, through ordering online, we can now easily enjoy products/goods that are made in the
Philippines and foreign brands vise versa.
