My Parents’ Attitude Towards Life Vs My Attitude Towards Life

Parents are the shoulders for their children to lean on. They give us advice, show us the right
path. They Comfort us when we are sad and share their happiness with us. They are the only
person who loves me unconditionally. However, my parents and I do not have the same
attitude towards different aspects of life such as studying, relationships and way of spending
time.

My parents and I have different ideas about what to study as a major. My parents think
studying science is the only way I can ensure a better future. Becoming a doctor or having a
BSc Degree is the only way to shine in this world. On the contrary, I love studying business
related subjects. The idea of becoming an entrepreneur fascinates me. I love how new ideas
in business can change the world.

My parents and I also differ in the attitude toward relation between my friends and I. My
parents do not like my friends, who are of opposite-sex. They also judge my friends by their
family stature. If a friend does not come from a high standard family, they cannot be friend of
their son. Although I strongly disagree. I think a person should be valued by their work and
likeliness, not by their gender and family stature. I have chosen all of my friends because we
have commonalities and likeliness.

The contrast we have do not end with studying and relationship but also toward how we
choose to spend our time. My parents think I should spend my time only studying. I should
not waste my time on playing video games. To them travelling is a waste of time. On the
other hand, I think otherwise. I think there a lot of think can be done without studying.
Playing video games helps me to become free with strangers and travelling give me unique
freshness.

Despite of having some contrast in attitudes toward such things as studying, relationships and
spending times, there is no generation gap in our family. Sometimes we do feel upset but that
goes away with time. No one is always right but exchanging our ideas helps us to maintain a
happy relationship.
