 Graph Analysis

The given graph is a bar chart, that illustrates total amount of hours that are being spent by a
teacher while teaching in three separate levels of schools in four distinct countries, within the
year 2001.
From the graph, the first thing that is forthwith apparent is in every country, upper secondary
school teachers spend the highest amount of time in teaching, primary school teachers spend the
lowest and lower secondary school teachers come in between. Overall comparing between the
countries, it is evident that in USA, teachers spend much longer time in teaching than the
teachers of other three distinct countries.
In USA, the Upper Secondary school teachers spend around 1180 hours while teaching, whereas
the number dipped substantially to 1000 hours among Lower Secondary school teachers. The
number falls again as only 750 hours are being taught by primary school teachers. In case of
Spain and Iceland, these two countries represented quite similar measurement in Upper
Secondary School level at 900 and 910 hours respectively, But in Lower Secondary and Primary
schools, the scenario is divergent. For instance, in Iceland, the number of hours being taught in
Lower Secondary and Primary level are comparable to each other being 600 and 580 hours
respectively. On the other hand, in Spain, the number hours spent by the teachers of both Lower
Secondary and Primary schools, soars higher than that of Iceland. Lastly, for Japan, the teachers
spent least amount of time while compared to the other three countries. Here, teachers spent
almost equal number of hours in each of the three levels of schools.
All in all, it is discernible that teachers of USA spent the more time in teaching than the other
three countries. Another significant factor is Upper Secondary School teachers spent most time
in every country shows more time for teaching is needed at this level of School.
