CHAPTER 1
Background of the Study

Printing is a process for reproducing text and images using a master form or template (Steinberg,

S. H. 1974). Printed materials are very in demand nowadays in the area of learning or teaching in

the. Some school teachers are using printed materials such as paper report, assignment, and also

some activity. In this way the students will be easily learn. Some students are having bad writing

and the teachers are trying hard to understand the penmanship of the students. Most of the

teachers preferred printed outputs, like activity sheets, assignment paper, and reports in order to

easily check the outputs of the students. This study aims to investigate the effects of printing

shop at school, as well as to evaluate students’ interest in alternatives to the traditional books into

present working.

The researchers observed that the students needed to go out for their printing needs

before the first period and it made them late in their first period in the morning. Furthermore, this

could lead them to encounter any accident outside the school. Thus the researchers wanted to

conduct a study to address these printing needs of the students.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

This part of the study discusses the theories proposed and explained by philosophers and

theorists that are considered related to understanding the present day. And this study is all about

the printing needs of students related to projects and report.

Geoff Riley (2017) that the concept demand refers to the quality of goods service that

consumers are willing and able to purchase at various prices during a given period of time. It

means that if the products or service of one business is good or high quality then one the

consumers will be convince to buy, if not them yours business will be loss. There’s a printing

demand of MPJCL some students are waiting for the lunch break or open gate for just to go

outside and print some paper reports or projects, etc. So some students choose to stay outside for

a while jus to print rather than to attend the first class. If one of students will failed to submit the

given task, in the given deadline there will be a deduction of score.

Joseph Whelan and Kami Msefer (1996), demand is the rate at which consumers want to

buy a product. Its means that consumers will purchase one product if the product is good or high

quality. Economic theory holds that demand consists of two factors: taste and ability to buy.

Taste, which is the desire for a good, determines the willingness to buy the good at a specific

price. (Joseph W. & Kami M., 1996). It state the ability to buy means that to buy a good at

specific price, an individual must possess depends to the wealth or income of one individual.

Demand is defined as the quantity (or amount) of a good or service people are willing and able to

buy at different prices, this means that demand is also referring to the quality of goods or

products which costumers will convince to buy or purchase that goods or product whatever it is

price as long as it is a good or high quality product. While supply is defined as how much of a

good or service is offered at each price. It means that how much that the producer will sell the

goods or products to the buyers or customers. How do they interact to control the market? It state

that how the producers react to the demand of the customers. Willingness and ability to supply

goods determine the seller’s actions. At higher prices, more of the commodity will be available

to the buyers. (Joseph W. & Kami M., 1996). It says the willingness of a customers to buy or

purchase various items with a various prices as long as it is good quality. And it also referring to

the prices of one products or goods, if the price if higher than the normal price absolutely the

product is also high quality. Buyers and sellers react in opposite ways to a change in price. When

price increases, the willingness and ability of sellers to offer goods will increase, while the

willingness and ability of buyers to purchase goods will decrease.
