STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) FOR REFUELLING BY


REFUELLERS.
(TO BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO BY REFUELLING CREW)

1. CHECK YOUR REFUELLER FOR QUALITY AND SERVICEABILITY.


2. WEAR REQUIRED PPEs: FLUROSCENT JACKET,HAND GLOVES,EARMUFFS AND SHOES
3. APPROACH AIRCRAFT SAFELY: WATCH OUT FOR THE CLEARANCE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT
IN THE VICINITY.
4. CHECK BRAKES AND POSITION THE REFUELLER CORRECTLY
5. DISEMBERK AND PLACE THE FOLLOWING APPROPRIATELY. Viz:
 CHOKES AT THE WHEELS
 PLACE THE EARTHING PLATE ON THE GROUND
 PLACE SAFETY CONES
 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS TO BE PLACED WITHIN REACH.
6. CONNECT THE BONDING WIRE TO THE AIRCRAFT AT THE CORRECT BONDING POINT.
7. CHECK DECAL NEAR REFUELLING PORT OF THE AIRCRAFT FOR THE TYPE OF FUEL (JETA1/
AVGAS). REFUELLER PRODUCT SHOULD TALLY WITH PRODUCT EARMARKED ON DECAL. IF
DECAL IS NOT PRESENT FUEL ORDER FORM TO BE FILLED UP.
8. QUALITY CONTROL CHECK:
PRE REFUELLING (VISUAL)
PARTICULATE MATTER: 1 LTR SAMPLE
WATER CHECK: SAMPLE OF 100 ml FROM 1 LTR.SAMPLE. PUT AQUADIS WATER
DETECTING CAPSULE.
(SAMPLE TO BE CHEKED FROM TANK BOTTOM & FILTER IN PRESENCE OF AIRCRAFT
REPRESENTATIVE AND AFTER GETTING CLERANCE FROM HIM/HER , SAMPLE IS CLEAR)
9. CONNECT THE NOZZLE BONDING TO THE AIRCRAFT AND THE HOSE TO THE REFUELLING
POINT.
10. ONCE CLERANCE IS GIVEN BY AIRCRAFT REPRESENTATIVE, START THE REFUELLING BY
PRESSING THE DEADMAN AND OPENING THE METER VALVE
(HOLD THE DEADMAN ALWAYS IN YOUR HAND ONCE REFUELLING IS STARTED AND TILL IT
IS OVER).
11. BE ALERT AND VIGILANT DURING THE REFUELLING.
12. RELEASE DEADMAN ONCE THE REFUELLING IS COMPLETE.
13. DISCONNECT THE HOSE AND NOZZLE BONDING AND STOW IT BACK TO ITS CRADLE.
14. UNWIND THE BONDING WIRE.
15. COMPLETE THE DELIVERY CHALLAN CORRECTLY AND GET IT SIGNED BY AIRCRAFT
REPRESENTATIVE(TO BE DONE BY SUPERVISING QCO).
16. KEEP THE SAMPLE BOTTLE, EARTHING PLATE, SAFETY CONES & FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
BACK TO THEIR RESPECTIVE PLACES.
17. TAKE A WALK AROUND THE REFUELLER AND CHECK FOR CLEAR & EXIT.
18. REMOVE THE CHOKES AND DRIVE THE REFUELLER SAFELY OUT.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) FOR REFUELLER


TOPPING UP.

(TO BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO FOR TOPPING UP OPERATIONS)


1. PLACE THE REFUELLER ON THE TOPPING UP BAY IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE TOPPING UP
HOSE CAN BE CONNECTED/DISCONNECTED SMOOTHLY FOR SAFE AND EASY
OPERATION.

2. STOP THE ENGINE OF THE REFUELLER , SWITCH OFF THE MAIN SWITCH AND APPLY HAND
BRAKE.

3. PLACE EARTHING PLATE PROPERLY (SLIGHTLY UNDER THE WHEEL) AND APPLY RUBBER
CHOKES.

4. CONNECT THE BONDING TO THE REFUELLER

5. ASSESS THE ULLAGE IN THE REFUELLER FROM GAUGE.

6. CHECK THE POSITION OF QUICK CLOSING VALVE AT TOPPING UP POINT OF THE REFUELLER.
IT SHOULD BE IN CLOSE POSITION, IF NOT, THEN CLOSE IT AND THEN OPEN THE LOADING
POINT CAP OF THE REFUELLER.

7. CONNECT THE NOZZLE BONDING AND THEN CONNECT THE TOPPING UP HOSE COUPLING TO
THE REFUELLER

8. OPEN THE QUICK CLOSING VALVE/GATE VALVE OF THE REFUELLER FITTED NEXT TO TOPPING
UP ADAPTOR.

9. RESET THE METER TO ZERO AND TAKE OPENING TOTALISER READING.

10. RECORD THE READING ON THE TOPPING UP SHEET WITH TIME , REFUELLER NO.
AND DELIVERY TANK NO.

11. TURN THE CONNECTED TOPPING UP PRESSURE COUPLING CLOCK WISE TO OPEN IT.

12. MAKE THE TOPPING UP LINE THROUGH STARTING FROM PUMP HOUSE MANIFOLD TO
METER VALVE. DO NOT OPEN THE METER VALVE AT THIS POINT.

13. BLEED AIR FROM THE TOPPING UP PUMP AND THEN CLOSE THE AIR BLEEDING LINE
POSITIVELY(IMPORTANT)

14. START THE PUMP.

15. OPEN METER VALVE.

16. BE ALERT AND VIGILANT WHILE TOPPING IS GOING ON.

17. AFTER TOPPING UP OF REQUIRED QTY CLOSE THE METER VALVE FIRST AND THEN CLOSE
THE QUICK CLOSING VALVE OF THE REFUELLER NEAR TOPPING UP
ADAPTER.(VERY IMPORTANT)
18. DISCONNECT THE COUPLING AND THEN NOZZLE BONDING.

19. KEEP THE TOPPING UP HOSE IN THE STAND AND PUT THE NOZZLE DUST CAP.

20. PUT THE FILL CAP PROPERLY FOR PROPER RELEASE OF INTERLOCKING SYSTEM.

21. REMOVE THE EARTHING PLATE OF THE REFUELLER AND KEEP IT IN THE EARTHING
PLATE BOX.

22. REMOVE CHOKES AND KEEP IT IN THE CHOKE BRACKETS.

23. DISCONNECT THE BONDING WIRE ,REWIND IT AND KEEP IT IN THE BONDING REEL. DO
NOT LEAVE IT IN UNWIND CONDITION.

24. RELEASE THE REFUELLER TO PARK AT REFUELLER PARKING PLACE FOR SETTLING.

25. STOP THE PUMP AND CLOSE THE DELIVERY LINE VALVES.

26. MAKE THE ENTRY IN TOPPING UP SHEET FOR THE QTY AND CLOSING TOTALISER READING.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) FOR TT


DECANTATION.

(TO BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO FOR DECANTATION OPERATIONS)


1. CHECK THE TT NO., AV3 AND THE AC 5 FOR CORRECTNESS OF DOCUMENTS.
2. CHECK TT CREW FOR DRIVING LICENSE, IOC ID CARD UNIFORM AND SAFETY SHOES.
3. POSITION THE TT IN LEVELLED PLATFORM AND PUT STOPPER CHOKES
4. CHECK THE LOCK NOs MENTIONED IN THE AC 5.
5. UNLOCK THE TT AND ALLOW MINIMUM 10 MTS. SETTLING TIME AFTER OPENING THE MASTER
VALVES OF THE TT.
6. TAKE DIPS OF RESPECTIVE COMPARTMENTS TO ASCERTAIN THE QUANTITY OF PRODUCT.
7. TAKE TEMPERATURE FROM MID PRODUCT LEVEL BY USING CUP THERMOMETER.
8. POSITION THE TT AT THE DECANTAION PLATFORM.
9. SWITCH OFF THE ENGINE OF TT
10. MAKE PROPER EARTHING/BONDING OF THE TT.
11. PLACE THE DCP F/E OF THE TT OUTSIDE NEAR THE TT CABIN.
12. PLACE HALF CUT EPICOATED BARREL OR SS DRUM FOR QC CHECKS/SAMPLING.
13. MAKE PROPER BONDING OF THE BARREL TO THE TT BEFORE DRAINING PRODUCT.
14. CARRY OUT QC CHECKS BY DRAINING SAMPLE FROM THE TT AS PER QC GUIDELINE.
15. BEFORE CONNECTING THE HOSE, OPEN THE INLET LINE VALVES OF PIPE LINE MANIFOLD
KEEPING FIRST VALVE AFTER HOSE IN CLOSED POSITION.
16. CHECK AND ENSURE THAT THE INLET VALVES OF ALL THE TANKS ARE IN CLOSED POSITION.
17. TAKE THE DIP OF THE RECEIPT TANK AND ASCERTAIN THE QTY OF THE PRODUCT AVAILABLE IN
THE RECEIPT TANK AND CONIRMING THE ULLAGE.
18. NOW OPEN THE INLET VALVE OF RECEIPT TANK
19. PUT THE BOARD NEAR TANK INLET VALVE “TANK UNDER RECEIPT”
20. THEN CONNECT THE DECANTATION HOSE TO THE TT.
21. OPEN THE VALVE NEAR THE HOSE.
22. START DECANTATION PUMP AFTER BLEEDING THE AIR.
23. AFTER UNLOADING OF THE TT IS COMPLETED, CLOSE THE INLET VALVE OF THE RECEIPT TANK
FIRST AND THEN TAKE THE CLOSING DIP .
24. CLOSE THE DIP HATCH PROPERLY.
25. PUT THE COVER ON THE DIP HATCH.
26. CHECK AND ENSURE THE EMPTINESS OF THE TT.
27. LOCK THE TT.
28. RELEASE THE TT WITH RELEVANT DOCUMENTS.
29. WHENEVER THERE IS A TANK CHANGEOVER, ENSURE THAT ALL INLET VALVES OF ALL THE TANKS
ARE IN CLOSED POSITION.
30. REPEAT POINT NO.17 TO 28.

REFUELLING.
(TO BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO BY REFUELLING CREW)

1. CHECK YOUR DISPENSER FOR QUALITY AND SERVICEABILITY.


2. WEAR REQUIRED PPEs: FLUROSCENT JACKET,HAND GLOVES,EARMUFFS AND SHOES
3. APPROACH AIRCRAFT SAFELY: WATCH OUT FOR THE CLEARANCE AND OTHER
EQUIPMENT IN THE VICINITY.
4. CHECK BRAKES AND POSITION THE DISPENSER CORRECTLY
5. DISEMBERK AND PLACE THE FOLLOWING APPROPRIATELY viz:
i. CHOKES AT THE WHEELS
ii. PLACE THE EARTHING PLATE ON THE GROUND
iii. PLACE SAFETY CONES
iv. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS TO BE PLACED WITHIN REACH.
6. CHECK DECAL NEAR REFUELLING PORT OF THE AIRCRAFT FOR THE TYPE OF FUEL.
7. CONNECT THE BONDING WIRE TO THE AIRCRAFT AT THE CORRECT BONDING POINT.
8. LIFT HYDRANT PIT COVER AND REMOVE DUST CAP.
9. CLEAN THE HYDRANT PIT WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH AND CONNECT THE
FOLLOWING TO THE HYDRANT PIT: (a) INTAKE COUPLER, (b) LANYARD & (c)
PNEUMATIC LINE.
10. QUALITY CONTROL CHECK:
a. PRE REFUELLING (VISUAL)
i. PARTICULATE MATTER: 1 LTR SAMPLE
ii. WATER CHECK: SAMPLE OF 100 ml FROM 1 LTR.SAMPLE. PUT AQUADIS
WATER DETECTING CAPSULE.
(SAMPLE TO BE CHEKED FROM TANK BOTTOM & FILTER IN PRESENCE OF AIRCRAFT
REPRESENTATIVE AND AFTER GETTING CLERANCE FROM HIM/HER , SAMPLE IS CLEAR)

13. BE ALERT AND VIGILANT DURING THE REFUELLING.
14. QUALITY CONTROL CHECK - MID REFUELLING:
TAKE SAMPLE AFTER APPOX. 1 KL DELIVERY FOR VISUAL CHECK.
15. RELEASE DEADMAN ONCE THE REFUELLING IS COMPLETE.
16. QUALITY CONTROL CHECK - POST REFUELLING:
TAKE SAMPLE AFTER COMPLETION OF DELIVERY FOR VISUAL CHECK.
17. DISCONNECT THE HOSE AND NOZZLE BONDING AND STOW IT BACK TO ITS CRADLE.
18. UNWIND THE BONDING WIRE.
19. COPMLETE THE DELIVERY CHALLAN CORRECTLY AND GET IT SIGNED BY
AIRCRAFT REPRESENTATIVE(TO BE DONE BY SUPERVISING QCO).
20. COMPLETE AV2 & METER READING LOG BOOK.
21. KEEP THE HYDRANT PIT DUST COVER & PIT COVER TO THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITION.
22. KEEP THE SAMPLE BOTTLE, EARTHING PLATE, SAFETY CONES & FIRE
EXTINGUISHERS BACK TO THEIR RESPECTIVE PLACES.
23. TAKE A WALK AROUND THE DISPENSER AND CHECK FOR CLEAR & EXIT.
24. REMOVE THE CHOKES AND DRIVE THE DISPENSER SAFELY OUT.
