Levels of Technology Integration

☒ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

The technology will be supported because every child will be on a tablet or the computer. This enhances their
learning by allowing them to work on problems in a different way than just worksheets. Children are engaged
because the program is engaging and fun to use. The children can express themselves in the game with what
they learn and what path they take.
Lesson idea implementation:
The students will be a hero by using the Hero Academy program. The teacher will walk around and
monitor the learning. The project will be introduced as a program that they will be doing everyday for 15

minutes a day. The program assesses the students and builds on their learning.
Using the website and app, it will show me what the students are learning and who might need some
more help with certain things. I can take what they learn in the program and build on it. I can create harder
problems based on what they learned. I can also find another program to do that is harder for the children
that need a challenge. I will conclude the lesson by telling them its time to log off for the day and that we will
pick up tomorrow. I will provide feedback to the students a couple days a week individually to see how the
program is going and if there are any questions or anything I can do better.
Reflective Practice:
I feel like I can create something based off the game when the students start getting into it. This activity is
something that they will do every day. I can take the problems and extend them into something harder for
the children that need a challenge, and I can also take the problems that many students are struggling with
and work through it with them.
