Levels of Technology Integration:

☒ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice
or Choice” during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is
student-driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and
determining the technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes
more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student
work and promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s
morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The Khan Academy unit that is included in this lesson is a
tool that will be used so that students will have a tool that they are able to learn the content and have
help if needed along the way and then will be tested on it after. This tool is helpful because there are
videos to teach the students and then there are practice problems and tests.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will watch the videos and do the practice problems provided for the unit on Khan
Academy that is accessible on the computer or mobile device. The teacher will then be able to see
how they did on the practice problems and see how they did on the quiz when they were tested on
what they learned throughout the unit. This is important because it can show the teacher who is
understanding the content and then break the class into groups based on their understanding and work
with those who are having difficulty learning.
This lesson will extend the students learning level because the point of using the Khan Academy
is that they are not able to move on until they have learned a certain amount. Khan Academy gives
feedback on if your answer was right or wrong and how it was wrong and can offer hints to the
students if they need it.
Reflective Practice:
This lesson impacts student learning because it is allowing the student to work until they have
mastered the content and gives explanations on what they are doing right and wrong. To extend this
lesson I could later give them a in class quiz to see if they are retaining the information that they are
supposed to be learning throughout the unit.
