Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):
☐ Remembering ☐ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☐ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. All products of learning are unique and
personalized. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator walking around monitoring the student-led
activity.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Teacher will be present to assist any aid for students in need of
assistance. Students will have the choice to work in pairs if they feel they need the extra peer support. They
will have the option to pick a topic for their e-book on either a shape, number, or letter and which software
they would like to present from (ie, Powerpoint, Prezi, Google Slides, Sway). They get to take responsibility
and add their own personal touch to their presentations and decide how they would like to be engaged with
the lesson to fit their needs as a learner and allow them to most success with the project which is the
representation as well as engagement aspect.

Lesson idea implementation: I will show students my e-book example, Tardy Tatum and the Race Against the
Clock, and then explain that they will get the chance to tell their own story based on their favorite letter,
shape, or number, like a student could write a story that revolves around the joke why 6 is afraid of 7! They
will get the chance to work in partners or individually and decide which platform they are most comfortable
working with from PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Sway. This will engage their higher learning skill of creation
as they create and present their own personal story to their class as well as promote ownership for their
learning experience as they essentially make all of their own decisions and the teacher acts as a guide and
helping hand. The lesson will conclude with students reading their stories to the class and being encouraged
to read their story to one person outside of the classroom.

Reflective Practice: I think student feedback would be a really great addition to this lesson and it could be
taken a step further for the older grades in the way of publication. With the proper permission and steps
followed, allow student to publish their story to a public audience!
