How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply.

☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.

☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

I will start the lesson by first telling my students what we are doing today. Then I will display
my digital story on PowerPoint. I will express to them, that they will be creating a short story
very similar to mine but with a different main topic. After going through my short story as a
group together, then I will break the students into groups or partners and they will create

their own PowerPoint with me, in case any has questions or need any technology help. After
every group has completed their short stories, to conclude the lesson and to receive
feedback, the group will then present their short stories and reveal their themes.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
The students will work with their assigned small groups and create a short story with a
specific theme that they can deicide as a group. To help with organization of ideas each
student will be encouraged to make an independent story board as a rough draft. The
students will work in groups in case they have any questions and of course they can ask me
as well if they are truly struggling. To manage classroom behaviors, I will express to my
students that using technology is a luxury and not a necessity, so I think they are not being
productive they will lose it, and have to write and draw their story stories on paper.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

I selected PowerPoint because it supports all students by having accommodations available
to those who may need it. For example, like seen in my example PowerPoint has an audio as
well as subtitles for those who need them. PowerPoint is also just an accessible software to
all students, anywhere. And Finally, this software will keep my students engaged and eager to
learn about all the creativity tools available.
Reflecting on enhanced learning:
I think this lesson will positively impact all students learning because they can use this tool
and other BPT’s at home as well to help and support their learning in all subjects and grade. I
look forward to implementing the forming a PowerPoint slideshow.
