1 GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 Project Description

The Canadian army in EIA has a request for supply, install, and commission Electrical Distribution

with buried conduits and manholes on their location in EIA.

1.2 Purpose of the Document

The purpose of this document is to explain the Method Statement of installing the mentioned

electrical equipment such as SDPs, Power Cables, and Buried Conduits with Manholes.

2.1 Management and Responsibility


AVRO Company site manager under consulting (if applicable) site manager is responsible for

managing the risks of installing the equipment. The technicians and workers should have

adequate experience and trained well in order to perform the work safely.

AVRO Company HSE manager will coordinate with the site manager to reduce the risk and

hazards that takes place on the site. Proper planning and procedure are essential points to

manage the risks on the site.

2.2 HSE Requirement


AVRO Company HSE Manager with the assistant of SITE HSE Manager will commit to

ensure that HSE is at the priority of all installation activities taken place during the project.

It is compulsory that all installation activities should be explained during the toolbox talk

(TBT) meeting.

The safety inductions, training, safety audits, incentive programs and other safety items

should be done to all site personnel. Moreover, the following points have to be considered

during the work:

 PPE shall be worn at all times.

 Permit to work shall be obtained for the type of work and location.

 Lifting equipment and tools shall be of suitable capacity, certified for the load and in
good working condition.

 A tool box talk (TBT) shall be carried out daily prior to commence activity as per this
Method Statement and job safety analysis.

3. INSTALLATION PLAN

3.1 INSTALLATION OF SUB DISTRBUITION PANELS

- The SDPs will be assembled locally with Circuit Breakers brand Schneider or ABB.

- After receiving the SDPs on site and finishing form civil work such as Manholes and

Buried Conduits, put the SDPs on their locations by using proper material until reached its

suitable place.

- Fix the SDPs on the concrete base by suing the proper material such as bolts and nuts.

- All installation process for all Equipment will be Completed per approved SLD, approved

technical Documents and manufacturers installation instruction manuals.

- Prepare required safety documents for the activity before commence with it.

- Before commencing with Equipment installing activities unpacking & visual checking of

the equipment to be done previously under relative site engineer supervision.

3.2 POWER CABLES

- Check required documents & Drawings before commencing. AVRO Company site

engineer should take End-User supervisory comments and recommendations in mind and

discuss any unclear issues in the approved diagrams with them.

- Make sure that all required types of cable are available at site.

- Check the Cable drums visually & primarily insulation tests by a proper test equipment

before commencing with cable pulling under relative engineer supervision and get his

approval.

- Make sure that all devices and tools which will be used for cable pulling activities are in

good condition and had been inspected such as (Cable stand, cable roller, trolley, Cable

tie, Crane … etc.).

- Choose the proper place to install the cable drum.

- Specified sufficient team to commence with cable pulling and explaining work plan with

them about SAFETY requirement and prepare required safety document before

commence with cable pulling

- Review over all the design and Make sure that cable routes have no any sharp edges or

improper condition.

4.2 Cables Schedule Table
The required size of cable according to the SOW is 5X95mm2 because this
type of cable is unavailable on the local market the cable size
4x95mm2+1x95mm2 will be used instead of 5X95mm2.

Note: - Because the cable length is known for outgoing CBs, the price for
meter length will be provided in commercial offer. So outgoing cables will not
be considered in the above table.

5. SAFETY
The main activities of safety will be carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, Security

and Environmental Plan, which explained in details in submitted documents.

Contractor has to comply all the laws application of safety, permits to work systems, safe

operation standards of the OWNER, and safety precautions related to the contract

performance so that to protect the work, the personnel, and project team. Simultaneously,

subcontractor (if applicable) has to full fill all the safety laws that are ordered from the

Owner.

6. QUALITY CONTROL
Contractor has to ensure that the employed staff has sufficient experience in order so that

to enhance the quality of the work. The subcontractor is responsible of the quality of

material that is used at the roof such as form work, scaffold, and other materials.

Moreover, all the inspection form shall be filled properly and submit to the consultant

engineer.
