1. General information

 Project Description
The Canadian army in EIA has a request for supply, install, and commission Electrical Distribution

with buried conduits and manholes on their location in EIA.

 Purpose of the Document


The purpose of this document is to explain the Method Statement of Civil Works that included in

the scope of works to installing the mentioned electrical equipment such as SDPs, Power Cables,

and Buried Conduits with Manholes.

2. MANGEMENT & RESPONSIBILITY

 Management and Responsibility


AVRO Company site manager under consulting (if applicable) site manager is responsible for

managing the risks of installing the equipment. The technicians and workers should have

adequate experience and trained well in order to perform the work safely.

AVRO Company HSE manager will coordinate with the site manager to reduce the risk and

hazards that takes place on the site. Proper planning and procedure are essential points to

manage the risks on the site.

 HSE Requirement
AVRO Company HSE Manager with the assistant of SITE HSE Manager will commit to

ensure that HSE is at the priority of all installation activities taken place during the project.

It is compulsory that all installation activities should be explained during the toolbox talk

(TBT) meeting.

The safety inductions, training, safety audits, incentive programs and other safety items

should be done to all site personnel. Moreover, the following points have to be considered

during the work:

 PPE shall be worn at all times.

 Permit to work shall be obtained for the type of work and location.

 Lifting equipment and tools shall be of suitable capacity, certified for the load and in
good working condition.

 A tool box talk (TBT) shall be carried out daily prior to commence activity as per
this Method Statement and job safety analysis.

3. General Working Approach

 General Discretion

Avro has divided the work in to a workable breakdown structure in order to estimate and
distribute it’s resources based on that breakdown. However, the work is consisted of the
following main items,

As Initially Planned, Avro will be utilizing the above mentioned resources, and will be

monitoring the production, in case any activity has been delayed then Avro’s Project

Manager will start to increase the number of the resources needed for the activity.

 Working Approach
Avro has developed a working schedule which is enclosed herein, as reference to indicate

the priority, duration, constrains of each task.

As a general narrative related to the working schedule of the project,

- The main constrains in this projects are, the supplying of SDP Panels which takes

almost 2 weeks to be manufactured and assembled.

- Though, the Civil works have been accommodated at the begging of the project, in

order to prepare the infrastructure of the project to be ready once the materials are

on site.

- Waterfall approach has been followed to develop the project schedule,

- Excavation will be started at the begging in parallel to the demolishing works of

concrete.

- The excavation of each line will be carried out each in one day respectively.

- Once the excavation of the line is completed, sand should have been provide don

site to level the bed and be prepared to install the PVC pipes on the correct level.

- The PVC pipe shall be fixed by steel rebar, and will be connected using tanged

material that recommended by the manufacture.

- Once the pipes are installed and inspected by the QC and Client representative,

filling team will start it’s work to fill the line with another 15cm on top of the PVC

pipe. And the rest of the trench will be backfilled utilizing the existing excavated

material.

- Hand Compacter will be utilized, to compact the soil on layer not exceeding 15cm.

- Manholes should have been ready on site, as Avro is intending to be using pre-

casted concrete manholes and transported on site once it’s placed is ready.

- Manholes shop drawings will be prepared by Avro, and will be submitted to the

client for it’s approval prior to start preparing them.

- This will be the approach of the contract to undertake each line separately.

- For the lines that need to be hanged out to parameter wall, the plumbing team will

be connecting the line to the manhole and hang them up to the parameter wall

utilizing the PVC fixer and screws.

- For each activity a detailed method of statement will be provided for the approval of

the client, prior to start the activity,

5. SAFETY

The main activities of safety will be carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, Security

and Environmental Plan, which explained in details in submitted documents.

Contractor has to comply all the laws application of safety, permits to work systems, safe

operation standards of the OWNER, and safety precautions related to the contract

performance so that to protect the work, the personnel, and project team. Simultaneously,

subcontractor (if applicable) has to full fill all the safety laws that are ordered from the

Owner.

6. QUALITY CONTROL

Avro has to ensure that the employed staff has sufficient experience in order so that to

enhance the quality of the work. As well as Avro is responsible of the quality of material

that is used as form work, scaffold, Concrete, Steel, Pre-cast concrete, PVC Pipes, Cable

Trays and other materials. Moreover, all the inspection form shall be filled properly and

submit to the Client.

Detailed QA/QC Plan shall be developed and submitted for the approval of the client’s

engineer in order to follow up the execution work and to make sure that the quality

expected are meeting the requirements of the contract.
