1.SCOPE:

This Method statement covers installation of Impulse line Tubing be carried out in AL DUR
PHASE 2. This method was prepared as guideline for the effective execution of the work,
Construction personnel have to determine the update applicability of this MS in the accordance
with approve construction drawing, actual site condition and specific project requirements.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Site Manager
Overall responsibility for the safe execution of the project and also responsible for
overall
co-ordination with other agencies.
b) Construction Manager
Construction manager will be responsible for safe execution of work at site,
coordination
with client engineers & progress monitoring.
c) Site engineer
Site engineer will be responsible for the monitoring the work to execute as per
approved drawings and documents and to arrange the resources to the site
team to execute the work as planned smoothly.
d) Site supervisor
Site supervisor will be responsible to implement the installation of work at site as per
approved drawings and monitor the quality& safety aspects and guide the foremen
accordingly.
e) QA/QC
1) Monitoring the site work as per the specification and the related quality procedures.
2) Arranging & coordinating with the consultants for the Inspection of site
works installation as per ITP (if any) for the approval.

1) Maintaining the site inspection and test records for further reference.

3) Documentation in accordance to approved PQP / ITP.

f) Safety Officer
1) The implementation of all the safety measures in accordance with the HSE
Plan and that whole work force is aware of its proper implementation.
2) Daily checking of work permit and tool box talk.
3) The implementation of safety measures in adequate to maintain a safety Working
environment on the site and supervising whether each worker is using necessary PPE.
4) Inspection of the all site activities and training of personnel in accident prevention and
related to HSE
5) Training, Electrical safety, confined space, Hot work, working at height and life safe
behavior.

g) Foreman
Foreman will allocate the manpower as required on site and arrange the tools and
tackles as required to execute the job smoothly.

5.PROCEDURE:
5.1 Receipt and Storage Material

1) All impulse line tubing’s and fittings shall be visually inspected for damage and
confirmation to all applicable inspection.
2) Check if the material received confirm with the packing list.
3) The material received from client shall be stored in the designated area of the warehouse.
4) Arrangements shall be made, and maintained, to ensure protection against the effects of
local weather and construction environment.
5) During shifting of the material special care shall be taken to protect from any damage.
Proper lifting and transporting equipment shall be used as required.
6) All material shall be segregated accordingly to facilitate location of the items.

5.2 Installation of Impulse Tubing


Impulse line tubing shall be routed bearing in mind the following considerations, such that,
where possible, they

1) Prior to installation all impulse line materials shall be inspected for cleanliness. Proper
venting shall be provided on those parts of tubing required venting.
2) Keep it short as much as possible consistent with good practice and accessibility.
3) Do not obstruct access/ passages or emergency escape ways.

4) It shall not restrict the accessibility or approach for maintenance/ removal of process
equipment (e.g. pumps, motors, exchanger bundles, valves etc.,).
5) It shall be safe enough and not be subject to mechanical obstruction that will cause
mechanical damage.
6) Avoid areas where spillage is possible from overflowing of tanks/ process cleaning /
purging / condensate or drainage.
7) Keep safe distance with process piping and provided sufficient clearance from piping
required lagging/ insulation and cladding.
8) Tubing runs and drops shall be supported using light metal, Unistrut or other method
acceptable with in project standard.
9) Tubing supports must be attached at structure beams, columns or any structural
members. Avoid attaching it to the equipment that may be removed for maintenance or
w/c may cause vibration or movement.
10) All tube bend must be made using an appropriated tube bender. Bending of tube must
be carefully execute to avoid scratching or flattering of tube
11) Slope back to tapping point (where possible) to allow for self-draining back into the
process line. Tubes installed but not connected, shall have the ends closed in an
approved fashion to prevent the entry of foreign material.
12) Where instrument tubes run parallel to each other, stagger and offset the joints neatly.
13) Horizontal runs of pipes and tubes shall have tubes vertically one above the other as far
as possible and shall run with a minimum number of changes of direction with good
practice and neat appearance.
14) Compression fittings shall be installed in accordance with the pressure ratings, project
specifications and manufacturer's recommendations.
15) Use a thread sealer on threads of screwed fittings as specified by the specification or
otherwise as per standard practice.
16) Keep the number of joints in tube work as minimum as possible consisting with good
practices.
17) Avoid use of process tubing or handrails as a support for instrument piping/ tubing
unless otherwise specified by drawings or specifications. Get client's advance approval
where unavoidable and not indicated or not clear from the concerned documents.
18) Tubing must be cut square with sharp tube cutter and burns removed.

19) All tubing shall be cleaned by blowing through with filtered air before connecting
instruments.
20) Always use Loctite 577 instead of Teflon.

6.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS:

8) Grinding machine.
9) Standard size spanner and screw drivers (star or flat type).
10) Tube cutter.
11) Tube bender (12mm, 10mm, 8mm & 6mm)
12) Portable air motor compressor.
13) PPE’S Requirements.

7. INSPECTION AND TESTING:

7.1 QC Inspection

1) Inspection for Impulse line Installation. RFI for installation activity shall be
coordinated by JEL QA/QC Inspector, who will implement the inspection program
and notify all parties involved 24 hrs. in advance of the scheduled dates of inspection
to enable them to participate and Inspection of the following:
 Tubes physical inspection for damage.
 Before installation verify the impulse line size
 Installation according to relevant drawing and specification instruction.
2) Internal and preliminary inspection shall be done before submitting to contractor for
final inspection
3) RFI will be raised for inspection once work and internal inspection is completed and
inspection checklist to be used.
4) Relevant records shall be signed by all the required parties and originals kept by the
JEL QA/QC Department.
5) Acceptance criteria for inspection will be within Project specification and standards.
Required actions will be taken place as per site work condition for remarks and
punch lists noted during inspection.

7.2 RED LINE MARK UP (RLM Drawing)


Document controller will be responsible for maintaining a complete set of Construction
drawings, Vendor and manufacturer's
1) Drawing for up-to-date marked-up of any actual field changes to the drawing issued
or any revisions.

2) Once the installation is complete, supervisor shall mark the approved drawing for
any changes.
3) The Supervisor makes "RLM" for drawings in Master Copy immediately after
completion of works (Whichever changes in the approved drawings, P&ID and
specifications marked in red according to actual constructed condition) and submits
to field engineer who will review and forward the RML Drawings to QA/QC
department.
4) After QA/QC department reviewed and verified it, the gathered "RLM" drawings
submitted by Construction will be processed for submittal to client and a Master
copy will be kept by JEL document controller.
8.SAFETY:
1) Prepare the work permit before installation, verifying the safety measure
requirements, information to involving parties and approval of work commencement.
No work shall be started without work permit.
2) work safely at all times, complying with health and safety and other relevant
regulations, directives All personnel that will perform the installation of impulse line
shall be qualified, properly trained for working at heights, confined space, and
electrical safety. whatever applicable project safety training requirements before
executing the activity.
3) Ensure that work area is safe and clear from any danger. Identify any hazards and
take necessary preventive actions.
4) All personal should be site inducted by HSE department to prior start work.
5) Job should be monitored at all times.
6) To deploy trained person to work or particular task.
7) Impulse line items should be stored properly at site.
8) Housekeeping to be done after completion of work.
9) Before start any job Tool box talk provide by task supervisor.

9. DOCUMENTATION:
All reports issued for information related installation of Impulse line shall be submitted
officially SIDEM thru transmittal. Documents required as per Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
shall be signed off with SIDEM Representative.
