SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The concept of "need" goes beyond simply material needs and includes values,
relations, freedom of thought, action, and participation, all of which mean a sustainable
living, moral and geographic. Sustainable development is defined as "development that
meets present needs, not compromising the ability of future generations to meet their
own needs." Sustainable development is the organizational principle for achieving
human development goals while, at the same time, supporting natural systems ' ability
to provide natural resources and ecosystem services that depend on economics and
society. The desired results are social conditions that continue to meet human
necessities without undermining the integrity and stability of the natural system through
the utilization of living conditions and resources. Sustainable development can be
defined as a development that satisfies today's needs while at the same time meeting
the needs of future generations.

Importance of Sustainable Development –

Sustainable development is crucial as the national budget is saved, people need fully
fulfilled, natural resources are preserved, natural resources coordinated and natural
resources preserved for future generations. Sustainable development is essential.

Challenges of Sustainable Development-

• The resources for implementing and planning sustainable development are lacking.

• In war-torn countries, sustainable development is often not possible because other

priorities are available for the countries and therefore, they aggressively use natural
resources to win war.

• Instead of investing in sustainable development practices the government seeks

immediate profit and therefore it is difficult to save natural resources in a country such
as this, since the government simply seeks immediate gain rather than having a larger
image in mind.

• Corruption

• Missing municipal efforts also allows natural resources to be depleted.

Examples of Sustainable Development-

• Wind Energy- Wind energy is used by means of wind turbines or windmills to

generate power. Wind energy is renewable, never ending and can be used to generate
energy and conserve scarce natural resources for a long period of time.

• Solar Power- Converts sunlight with solar panels into energy. It is beneficial because
its supply is free and infinite. Solar energy is a major contributor to sustainable
development, because it does not emit harmful gasses and does not deplete them when
used excessively.

• Crop rotation- crop rotation means planting various crops at the same farm to
improve soil fertility and help manage disease and insects at all times.

Sustainable Development Goals–

Sustainable development aims have three main objectives:

• To minimize the natural resources depletion in creation of new developments.

• Development that can be maintained and sustained without further environmental

damage.

• Provide methods for upgrading existing developments to make them environmentally

friendly.
