Report on Simulations

Strengths, Challenges and Interventions

Grade 12 Amber, Crystal & Amethyst


Subjects: 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World
Creative Nonfiction

Strengths:
a. Printed Modular Distance Learning allows the students to learn from the safety of
their home.
b. Printed Modular Distance Learning develops students’ self-discipline, time-
management and teaches them to monitor their own learning.
c. Printed Modular Distance Learning provides parents/guardians a closer monitoring on
their children’s learning development.
d. The teacher attached general instructions to students’ modules which was a way for
her to monitor students’ learning process.
e. The teacher reminded the students of their class schedule.
f. Most of the students followed the instructions given by the teacher like sending
pictures when they received their modules, while they were working on the activities in
their modules and pictures with their parents/guardians while they were guiding them in
their learning process.
g. Students expressed appreciation on Printed Modular Distance Learning. They found
it as a way to test their ability and that it leads them to discover and learn things on their
own.
h. The teacher asked students if they’re done with the tasks in their module (follow up).
i. There’s an open line of communication between the parents and the teacher.

Challenges:.
a. Some students were not active in the group chat which was a platform for the teacher
to give instructions, to do follow up and monitor their learning progress.
b. There were students who didn’t have parents/guardians (due to work or they hardly
know how to teach their children) to assist or guide them in the learning process.
c. There were students who encountered difficulty in understanding the lesson.
Interventions:
a. The teacher contacted the students through their mobile numbers or personally sent
them messages to give instructions, to do follow up and to monitor their learning
progress.
b. The teacher reminded the students of the tasks they needed to accomplish and
reiterates that if they encounter difficulty in their lessons or tasks, they can freely contact
the teacher for her to explain further.
Proper communication and coordination with the parents/guardians are needed for them
to help the school, specifically the teacher, in guiding their children in the learning
process.
c. Aside from giving clear directions to follow, the teacher reminded the students to ask
question if they hardly understand something for her to make clarifications.
