Important Reminder!!

Milestone 3

All visual aids for your Country interest project are due!!!

***YOU ARE REQUIRED TO USE A VARIERTY OF VISUAL AIDS.


Please see below for examples and specific requirements.

You are required to use several different types of visual aids for your
exhibition. This will only enhance your presentation and retain your audience’s
attention.
o Visual aids can be: Power Point Presentations, video clips, poster boards,
posters, overhead projector transparencies, models, handouts, mobiles,
diorama, and/or demonstrations.

o The visual aids should be large enough to be seen from the back of the
room.

o Do NOT bring pieces of paper that will become the visual aids. They need
to be already assembled.

o All visual aids must be relevant to your country. You CANNOT use generic
or random pictures.
o e.g. if you described a WWII battle that occurred in your country,
you can not use a Vietnam War picture that took placed in a
different country.

REQUIREMENTS

You are NOT limited to what is required below. You are encouraged to add
more visual aids in ADDITION to what is required!

I. Location: you must have your country labeled on a WORLD map as a visual aid.
II. Capitol: you need to use a map of your country as a visual aid.
III. Flag: you need at least one visual aid of your country’s flag; either a
picture/model of the flag OR preferably the actual flag.
IV. Geography: you need at least one visual aid pertaining to the geography of your
country; either an actual plant, animal, insect, and/or fish OR a diorama of a
landform or landmark that you described in your outline.
V. Historical facts: you need at least one visual aid pertaining to a historical event
that you described in your outline.
VI. Economy: you need at least one visual aid pertaining to the economy of your
country; preferably the actual currency or a tangible item that represents the
major source of income. (ex. If coffee is a major source of income, you could
bring in coffee beans)
VII. Population: you need at least one visual aid pertaining to your country’s
population.
VIII. Culture & Traditions: you need at least 3 different visual aids (one for the
holidays, one for the clothing, and one for the foods).
Holidays: can be a picture OR actual decorations used to celebrate one of
the holidays.
Clothing: can be a picture or an actual item of clothing.
Foods: I am STRONGLY suggesting that each student makes one of their
country’s unique dishes to share with the rest of the class OR a recipe with
a picture of the dish.
IX. Religion: you need a graph, chart, or table pertaining to your country’s religion;
(ex: in addition to the graph, chart, or table, you could also have
items/symbols that pertain to the primary religion practiced)
X. Language: you need graph, chart, or table pertaining to your country’s
language AND they must be able to say 3 different words in their
country’s primary language.
XI. Plan a vacation to the country, visiting 2 cities: you will need to have
COMPLETED your visual aid for your vacation. Remember you are trying to
sell your country to potential visitors.
• This visual aid needs to be creative. You could create a travel
brochure, TV commercial, or a billboard, just to name a few.
