Good Day, learners! I am Jessa G. Mangawang, your Science 10 Teacher for the school year 2020-2021. I have no
doubt that you will make the most of the canvas of opportunity and paint the goals that you aspire to. So as you
start you online classes make a list of small ideas that take you to
the path of success.

I am excited to see you virtually.

 Our class schedule is divided into asynchronous (morning) and synchronous(afternoon)


time.
 During our synchronous (afternoon) time, we are going to meet virtually through a Zoom
session. Our default meeting ID 9688234410, and password is TJessa. Tasks will be given
during this time which will be done in the following morning during the asynchronous time.
 During the asynchronous (morning) time, we are not required to meet, but you are expected
to finish the given tasks or activities in this schedule. A maximum of two days will be given to
finish and submit all tasks or activities. Failure to submit after the due date will result to 20%
deduction per day missed upon submission.

Key Stage Standards:
At the end of Grade 10, the learners should have developed scientific, technological, and
environmental literacy that would lead to rational choices on issues confronting them. Having been exposed to
scientific investigations related to real life, recognize that the central feature of an investigation is that if one
variable is changed, the effect of the change on another variable can be measured. The context of the
investigation can be problems at the local or national level to allow them to communicate with learners in
other parts of the Philippines or even from other countries using appropriate technology.
The learners should demonstrate an understanding of science concepts and apply science
inquiry skills in addressing real-world problems through scientific investigations.

Standards
Learners:
 realize that volcanoes and earthquakes occur in the same places in the world and that these are
related to plate boundaries. They can demonstrate ways to ensure safety and reduce damage during
earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
 explain the factors affecting balance and stability of an object to help them practice appropriate
positions and movements to achieve efficiency and safety such as in sports and dancing. They can
analyze situations in which energy is harnessed for human use whereby heat is released, affecting the
physical and biological components of the environment.
 complete the study of the entire organism with deeper study to help the excretory and reproductive
systems. They can explain greater detail how genetic information is passed from parents to offspring,
and how diversity of species increases the probability of adaptation and survival in changing
environments.
 explain the importance of controlling conditions under which a chemical reaction occurs. They
recognize the cells and tissues of the human body are made up of water, a few kinds of ions, and
biomolecules, which can be found in the food they eat.
