Study Suggestions:
Success in this course depends upon discipline and good study habits. It is suggested that you
devote at least 3 hours outside of class for each class lecture. Read the assigned sections and
study examples worked out in the textbook. Study class notes for each and every lecture.
Work out the class and textbook examples with the solutions covered up, then compare your
work to the solutions. This can be very beneficial in assessing your understanding of the basic
concepts. Start from the simple problems and work your way up to the more involved ones.
Don’t attempt the comprehensive problems until each principle is well-understood.
If you follow the suggestions above, you should only need review and a bit more problem-
solving practice before tests and final exam.
