 ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this assignment is to enable students to demonstrate their ability to write a
research proposal in the area of education administration. The students will be exposed to
the issues of educational administration better through self-reading and discovery.

TASK REQUIREMENT
This assignment is divided into two parts. In part 1, you are required to write a research
proposal related to any professional situation or event related to the area of educational
administration. In part 2, you need to prepare creative PowerPoint slides based on the
assignment in Part 1. The details of the content expected and allocation of marks for the
assignment are explained in the accompanying Content and Scoring Rubric.

Part I
QUESTION 1 (40%)
You are required to write a research proposal about your interest in the area of educational
administration. The proposed research title should be related to the topics we have covered
in this course. For example, you might want to explore the implementation of a program in
your school by looking at it in terms of some of the change literature, or describe what is
happening in a particular situation by referring to leadership literature. You will be writing

an academic proposal by referring to course readings or any support materials you believe
would be appropriate. This paper should consist of the following aspects:

1. Introduction – (i) background of study, (ii) problem statement, (iii) research objectives,
(iv) research questions, (v) significant of study.

2. Literature Review – analyze any 3 (THREE) past studies (the latest ten years) related to
your topic/research.  You need to highlight the problem statement, research objectives
or questions, research method (such as research design, respondents, etc.), findings,
and conclusion.
3. Research Methodology – research design, population and sample (for quantitative),
information about respondents (quantitative) / key informants (qualitative), research
instrument, data collection procedure, data analysis procedure.

(Note: use the future tense in this section because it is what you plan to do)

4. References - references should be between 7 and 10 journals/articles/books and follow

the APA style (7 edition)

QUESTION 2 (10%)

Based on the above assignment in Part 1, prepare creative PowerPoint slides. Your
Powerpoint slides need to be uploaded separately from your Part 1 assignment in the
myINSPIRE submission system. Your PowerPoint slides mark will be based on the given
assessment rubric.
