Introduction

Mobile games have a lot of effects to students, it can be positive or negative, but as we
experience nowadays students are more engaged and focused with the mobile games or
technologies. Mobile games can also help to the teachers-student relationship.

In this research’ I will state some positive and negative effects of mobile games to student not
only their studies but also with their personal attributes.

Mobile games can cause some troubles or problems to student like in doing their homework and
projects. Instead of doing their projects and homework they will get their cellphones and play
their favorite online games.

Other problem that students may encounter in using mobile games is lack of time with their
family. Instead of spending their short time at home with their family they choose to go outside
with their friends and play online together.

Because of mobile games, lot of parents didn’t know their child well. Other parents let their child
play mobile games without noticing that their children failing on their school grades.
Body
According to Piaget’s theory of cognitive development is a comprehensive theory about the
nature and development of human. The theory deals with the nature of knowledge itself and how
humans gradually come to acquire, construct and use it. Cognitive development was a
progressive reorganization of mental processes resulting from biological maturation and
environmental experience.

According to my research these are the negative effects of mobile games to students:

 Dangerous distractions

The first negative effects of mobile gaming are the potential for distraction when
performing another more important activity, such as driving.

 Sleeping problems

Mobile games have been independently linked to disruption in the sleep patterns of
children. Playing video games on mobile phone will no doubt continue to prevent
children from getting the rest they need.

 Out of control spending

Many mobile games operate on a “free to premium” business model, where the basic
game is free, but extras within the game cost money. Some players have found
themselves spending large sums of money while playing games.

And these are the positive effects on mobile games to students:

 Memory retention

Studies evaluating the benefits of brain games and puzzle on memory suggest.

 Study habits

The study habits is the way or the style of the student which they want to study
become easy like reading, note taking and writing.

 Helping people stay fit

Mobile games also make people healthy in an interesting and in an effective manner.
There are games in which you need to follow the diets and the commitments.
Conclusion

There are lot of ways to solve the problems about the negative effect of mobile games to the
students. I will state some of my suggestions to solve the problems that I state on the introduction
and body.

Dangerous Distractions. Some of students today are not focused to the lesson especially when
the teacher uses the chalk and board method. Therefore, nowadays students’ needs to be engaged
with high-tech way of teaching using and showing some presentation. Student nowadays are
more engaged when they can see some animations or computer related things during discussion.
Parents also need to take the mobile phone away to the students, so that they don’t get distracted.

Sleeping problems. I myself, I am experiencing sleeping problems. Using technology and

enjoying playing mobile games sometimes, I never thought looking to time. Playing mobile
games causing students to have lack of sleep. Better solution on this, are the parents to monitor
their child and control their children in using cellphones. Also maintain the time of using or
playing mobile games, and perhaps turning off the WIFI in your house every night so that
students cannot play or use it.

Out of control spending. Better tell the child that if they want to use money on their games, they
have to ask permission once or twice before to use money in their games. Strictly tell them to
save money from the excess money they spend during lunch time. So that, they can buy
something or spend in their favorite games but not entirely all to use their extra money they save.
These portray the students the discipline, saving, time management and how to save money and
they have extra savings that they can get to use in time of Emergency.
