Management of time

In the first theme, each of the respondents states their opinions on what is time

management and all of the results were almost same. These include prioritizing time and

personal behavior. Examining the effects of time management on students on how they control

their time. (Alexander, Arwin, Lydia, and Sabine,2014)

The interview questions that were use were created to know the perspective or opinion

of the respondent on the meaning of time management. The participants were asked on what is

time management and five Grade 11 stem students stated:

Respondent 1:

“para sakin from the word... worlds... words itself time management is yung

pagmamanage mo ng time mo mula sa maliliit na bagay haggang sa mga malalaking bagay.”

Respondent 2:

So me, time management is ahmmm... is a plan on how you divide your time because in

our ahhh... 24 hours we have to spend it.”

Respondent 3:

“Time management, syempre yung pagmamanage mo ng time.”


Repondent 4:

“Time management, eto yung... kapag ka madami kang ginagawaor madaming binigay

sayong gawain nagagawa ko paring magawa siyang lahat nang yung sa time na yung kumbaga

deadline niya.”

Respondent 5:

“Time management, yun yung kung pano mo i-handle yung nga gagawin para ma8 ko...

para ma-accomplish mo yung mga gagawin mo.”

Struggles on Simultaneous Activity

In the second theme, each of the respondents states their opinion what struggles did they

encounter when simultaneous activities happened. However, most of the time stem students

face problems like many performance task, so they to be procrastinate because they lack of time

so that they get distracted easily (Kelly, 2004(

The interview questions that were use were created to know the perspective or opinion of

the respondents on the struggles that they mostly encounter when they manage their time. The

participant were asked and four Grade 11 STEM students stated:

Respondent 1:

"So for me, the challenge is time itself, bakit? Ahmmm... kasi dib tayo kapag gumagawa

tayo ng mga bagay hindi natin namamalayan lumilipas n yung oras"

Respondent 2:
"Ahhmmm... yon pag... sabay sabay sila, sobrang hirap non kasi di mo alam kung ano yung

unang... kung ano yung unang uunahin mo sa mga yon"

Respondent 3:

"Dalawang groupings na gagawin sa araw na yon tapos dalawang sabay na oras yung

kunwari alas dos yung dalawa PR1 tska stat yung kumbaga di mo alam kung anong uunahin mo."

Respondent 4:

"Sabay sabay yung pasahan tapos di mo na alam yung uunahin mo ganon. Nakaka-stress."

Distraction

And only the one respondent states her opinion when it comes to the struggles that she

encounter when managing the time. This Grade 11 STEM student were asked and stated that:

Respondent 1:

"Syempre millennials puro social medias, facebook, tik toks, twitter, IG yun yung mga

challenges na naguudyok sakin parang demonyo sa pag ta-time management ko."

Mental Tension

The two respondents states their feeling whenever they encounter the state on having a

simultaneous activity. College year is the most stressful academic experience. Being aware on

time of students, resulting a good performance, less problems and less pressure (Swick, 1987)

The participant were asked and two Grade 11 STEM students stated:

Respondent 1:

"Yun nga nag sasabay sabay na sila - nagsasama sama sila na parang narating ka sa point na
maiistress ka na kasi parang feeling mo puro gawain nalang yung ginagawa."

Respondent 2:

"Sabay sabay yung pasahan tapos di mo na alam yung uunahin mo ganon. Nakaka-stress."

Time Table

In this theme, the respondents stated that they uses a material to manage their time

which is a time table or a planner to be more organize and to control of time spent on specific

activities.

The interview questions that were use were created to know what strategies did they

do and how on managing their time. The participants were asked on how do they manage their

time and four Grade 11 stem students state:

Respondetnt 1:

“Ano syempre... ano pang... ano dito... sagutin dito ng in general na... planning, ano

kunwari meron kang libro na i-jo-jot down mo doon lahat ng kailangan mong gawin para alam

mo din kung ano yung kailangan mong i-prioritize.”

Respondent 2:

“So minamanage ko yung time ko ahhh... minamanage ko yung time ko kapag... active

ako pag sinusulat ko yung ano..yung mga dapat kong gawin ahh.. to do list ganon.”

Respondent 3:
“Ahmmm... actually meron akong notebook pero ano... hindi as in time, meron lang

akong nilalagay na ahmmm... mga subjects or mga bagay na kailangan kong gawin sa araw na to

or kailangan ko ipasa in that wayna mamanage ko yung time ko.”

Respondent 4:

“gumagawa ako ng 'to do list', yun chine-checkan ko nalang kung anong dapat kong

unahin.”

Depends on the deadline

In this theme, the respondents stated that they are managing their time depends on

the given deadline.

The interview questions that were use were created to know what are their bases on

managing their time. The participants were asked on how do they manage their time and three

Grade 11 STEM students stated:

Respondent 1:

“so dapat unahin mo yungsa tingin mong ahmmm... mauunang ipasa kung uunahin

mo yung pwede pang ipasa sa susunod di mo mapapasa, di mo magagawa yung nauna. So dapat

alam kung... alam mo kung kailan yung i-de-deadline.”

Respondent 2:

“Kapag ganon ginagawa ko nalang kung ano yung mas kailangan talaga. Kunwari ang

mas... ang - ang unang ipapasa ay yung sa stat. Sa stat nalang ako pupunta.”

Respondent 3:

“ eto yung subject na to mas dapat i-priority yun yung gagawin ko”
The first major finding of this research is to know the

experience or struggles of a Grade 11 STEM students managing their time.

A conclusion to be drawn from this finding is that Grade 11 STEM

students experience a lot of difficulties on managing their time. The

others stated that they barely manage their time because there's a lot

of simultaneous activivities that were given by the teachers. Their

bases on managing their time was the date of the deadline of the given

activities. On one saide,"Sabay sabay yung pasahan tapos di mo na alam

yung uunahin mo ganon. Nakaka-stress." On the other side, "Dalawang

groupings na gagawin sa araw na yon tapos dalawang sabay na oras yung

kunwari alas dos yung dalawa PR1 tska stat yung kumbaga di mo alam kung

anong uunahin mo." there's alot of simultaneous activities that they

were doing which leads them to have a mental tension or a such pressure

feeling on a task that were given to them. But on the other side of this
