DAY 3- Literacy Development at Home

 Write each domain of literacy:


o Oral Language - is the system through which we use spoken words to express
knowledge, ideas, and feelings. 
 Pretend Play- Example is doctor doctoran. Let feelings show and ask
while playing.
 Wordless Picture Book- make a story through picture
 Interviewing-do some question and answer activity.
o Vocabulary Development- is knowledge of words and their meanings in either
print or spoken form.
 Playing Games- allow your child to play with other children with the
supervision of parents.
 Singing song-singing of simple and familiar songs
 Reciting Rhymes-recite, learn and memorize.
o Auditory Perception-it is the ability to make sense of what one hears.
 Clapping Games-counting the hand clapping and tell.
 Animal Sounds- attributed as names but a perfect time to teach your
child the name and corresponding sound.
 Name the mistakes- tell the mistake or changing word in the song
o Phonological Awareness- the ability to hear and manipulate the sounds in a
language.
