STEPS
MODELLING
You all know this
Group also the Floors..
Note:

 Plate thickness for galvanized iron sheet

- Plate thickness/ stainless steel/.0006m
 Plate thickness for concrete slab
- Plate thickness/ concrete / 0.10m (minimum)

RELEASE
Note:. Nagrerelease ng structure kung hindi buo.. if buo no need to release

LOADING
1. Wind Load

Type 1 - Windward X
Type 2 - Leeward X
Type 3 - Windward Z
Type 4 - Leeward Z
Exposure B- Urban
Exposure C- Urban (with obstruction)
Exposure D – Open

Building Ht- Mean roof Height

Type 1 - Windward X
L= Length span in the direction of x
B= Length span in the direction of z

Type 2 - Leeward X
Type 3 - Windward Z

L= Length span in the direction of z

B= Length span in the direction of x

Type 4 - Leeward Z
Same info as Windward Z but Leeward in Building design Pressure
LOADINGS
1. UBC ALONG X
2. UBC ALONG Z
3. WIND LOAD(+X)
4. WL (–X)
5. WL (+Z)
6. WL (–Z)
7. DL
8. LL

9. Load Cases Details/Add/Primary (Choose Wind)/Title {WL (+X), WL (–X), WL (+Z), WL (–Z)} /Add
Click the WL (+X)…. /Add/Wind Load
WIND LOAD(+X)
Factor = 1

WL (–X)
Factor = -1

WL (+Z)

2. SEISMIC ANALYSIS
Definitions/ Seismic Definition/Add/
From NSCP
Under Seismic Definition
Note: All loads under the seismic will come from the dead load and edited under the STAAD Editor

1. Click UBC along X/ Add

Outcome should be like this.

2. Click UBC along Z/ Add

Dead Load
DEAD LOAD CRITERIA
Concrete unit weight = 24 kN/m3

Ceilings and utilities 0.5 kPa

Toppings and finishes 1.01 kPa
plaster on tile or concrete 0.24 kPa
Ceramic or quary tile 0.77 kPa
4" CHB interior (plastered) 2.5 kPa
windows, glass, frame, and sash 0.38 kPa
6" CHB wall with window 2.63 kPa

ROOF=0.50KPA (from ceiling)

Loa8d for 2nd floor = 1.50kPa (Toppings for tiles)

Weight of Wall = 2.1 [3m(ht of wall)-0.30(depth of beam)]

Total = 5.67
Wrail = 1 kN/m
Wt of wall with opening = 1.5kPa*(3-0.30)
= 4.05 kN/m

Steps
1. Click Dead Load / Add /
2. Input all the Loads Computed in the Uniform Force And Floor Load

Live Load
LIVE LOAD CRITERIA
Storage/Hallway 2.4 kPa
Stairs 2.4 kPa
Restroom 1.2 kPa
Basic floor areas 1.2 kPa

f’c 20.7 MPa

fy 275 MPa
SBC 150 MPa

Go to STAAD Editor
Copy all the Loads from the Dead load an paste it under the Seismic Load.
Note:
 Change Member Load to Member Weight
 Delete GY and change all the Loads from Negative to Positive (Delete -)
 Change Floor Load to Floor Weight
 Same
