 Introduction:

As of the requirement of faculty of civil engineering I am required to do my summer practice in a 30

days’ period in the summer of 2020 in the famous construction company DMR. DMR is nationwide services
offering company, which provide complete range energy and Construction Services across turkey and
overseas. It features design concepts, construction operations and management of many of the most
prestigious and technically advanced building projects. DMR energy is famous domestically and in overseas
level. With the hard work and passion of the technical stuff, DMR energy brings creative solutions to the
contracting industry.
DMR energy are building functional and contemporary constructions, private or public, with standard
"Turkish" method by solving all technical details including projecting, completing substructure and
superstructure.

DMR Energy Construction Contraction was registered with İzmir Chamber of Commerce with the
registration number of 1388091 on 14.12.2010. the Official name of the operator company is DMR energy.
DMR energy offer services in the following sub-branches:

Constriction: Reinforced concrete and steel construction, Mold and scaffolding works, Drywall, clip-
in, linear wooden suspended ceiling systems, Furniture and wood work, Insulation works, Thin construction
works, Aluminum joinery and curtain wall works, coating works (titanium - zinc, aluminum composite etc.),
Acoustic wall and ceiling systems.

Landscape: Terrazzo and similar flooring works, decking work, Cnc cutting jobs.

Foreword:

Muğla regional museum:

The Metropolitan Municipality of Mugla, which has invested 882 Million TL (nearly 200 million USD)
since its creation to Muğla so far, it has begun construction of the Regional Museum which will make the history
of Muğla survive.

The Muğla Regional Museum, which was commissioned by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and
awarded by architect Cengiz Bektaş, is going to be built on the land of Menteşe, which is owned by Muğla
Metropolitan Municipality, in Emirbeyazıt neighborhood.

The museum project is going to be built in 8 thousand 150 square meters’ land on 3 Parcels. The total
construction area is 8 thousand 335 square meters, the building consists of 5 blocks, 3 staircase towers passing
between blocks and 4 separate functions as in the figure below. the entrance block A is going to be utilized as
children's and adult workshops, internet room, cafeteria, sales places, periodical exhibition area and public
information departments, Auditorium Block B (Conference Hall). Exhibition Block C, The Management Block D
and the E Block are made up from the top. It is planned that the Regional Museum, which is planned to enter
service in 2021, will be completed to 16 million 846 thousand TL (nearly 8 million USD).

Description of the task, form of work, location and other information:

Throughout this training I have gained the knowledge, how an organization work in cooperation within
the company and its interaction with the outside contractors or whoever involved in any way in the execution of
the project. Moreover, I emphasized on learning technical skills, field related knowledge, understanding the
technical drawings of reinforcement and the detailed architecture map.

More precisely I was involved somehow in every aspect of the ongoing project from the excavation phase
till the completing of the project. I observed and take part in the site surviving, soil testing, Excavation, placement
of concrete for the mate foundation, the steel work for foundation, shear wall, column, beam and slab, and the
formwork together with false work and hardcore.

I have also gained the method of concrete testing through sampling before every concrete placement. As
I was involved in the field activities I observed the curing process of concrete and the problems we have faced
during the concrete pouring and the related solutions for that. In short term I have observed every possible problem
that we encountered and observed the related rational solution for that.

CONCLUSIONS:

As a fresh undergraduate student I would like to say that this training program was an excellent
opportunity for to get to the ground level and experience the things that we would have never gained through
going straight in to job. I am so grateful to the DMR energy company for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

The main objective of this training was to provide an opportunity to undergraduate to identify, observe
and practice how engineering is applicable in the real life.it is not only to get experience on technical practice but
also to observe management practice and to interact with the field workers. I feel I have got the maximum out of
that experience.

also, I have learned the way of work in an organization, the importance of being punctual, the importance
of maximum commitment and the importance of team work. I feel I gained lots of knowledge and experience
needed to be successful in my future life and face any problem.
As in my mind engineering is not a job it’s a problem solving discipline.
