Tag of War Edition: Physical Classes vs Online Classes

Due to this pandemic, major sectors or departments in the country were affected
especially in educational systems. The fact that this sector is affected, the higher-ups of this
system were pushed to implement online learning and minimize physical classes to avoid mass
contamination and in contact with students since most are still at a level where their immune
system is not that yet regulated.

But this doesn’t change the fact that some people much prefer physical classes rather
than online classes. In my opinion, there are pros and cons of these two types of classes.

Physical classes, the most typical class where students go to an institute and learn there.
Where students can physically learn, meaning, they don’t utilize technology that much and it’s
face to face learning with a group of students and a teacher in a specific field or subject. But in
times of pandemics or if a harmful pathogen is on the loose it is not recommended to continue
physical classes because there’s a possibility that someone is exposed to that pathogen or virus
where this will spread widely and students can be contaminated as well.

Online classes, a not so popular program or type of class since when the pandemic began
the educational systems ordered schools to be closed and would implement online classes
where teachers or professors would send modules and videos digitally. The cons are since it’s
an online class some students have poor connections and even have no internet connections in
their houses. One time I read a news article where a student even went on top of a mountain
just to find a signal to pass her assignment. Because of this, only the privileged people or people
with stable connections and money can benefit this type of class but not all can benefit this. But
to avoid the mass spreading, it’s more likely to open online classes.

In conclusion, at the end of the day the important thing is you have learned something.
Even if it’s an online class you can learn something out of it. Even if it’s not conducive for some
students there will always be a piece of information in their minds from this online class. If the
online class is not implemented the everyday routine of a student would not be productive and
chances are their social life would be boring because they are isolated from the outside world.
So why not try something new? Try online classes!
