Topic: Verbs (Language)
Verbs are simply defined as action words or state of being. In a sentence, they describe what the
subject is doing. Along with nouns, verbs are the main part of a sentence or phrase, telling a
story about what is taking place.
Physical verbs are action verbs. They describe specific physical actions.
Mental verbs have meanings that are related to cognitive state such as understanding or
thinking.
State of being verbs, also known as linking verbs, describe conditions or situations that exist.
I am a student.
We are circus performers.
Please be quiet.

Topic: Tenses of Verbs (Language)
There are three tenses of verbs: past, present and future. These verb tenses refer to the exact time
the action happened.
Past Tense - the simple past tense is used for actions that started and ended at a specific point in
time.
Present Tense - a tense expressing an action that is currently going on or habitually performed,
or a state that currently or generally exists.
Future Tense - a tense expressing an action that has not yet happened or a state that does not yet
exist.
